STEP: 1Gather the following materials: T-shirt or otherapparel/garment, applique fabric, embroidery thread,scissors, embroidery files (Christmas Pocket Paldesign, Pocket Applique design*, Pocket Finishdesign*). *Use matching pocket designs, DiamondPocket Applique with Diamond Pocket Finish / StarPocket Applique with Star Pocket Finish! TheDiamond Pocket Applique with the Star PocketFinish will not work. There are 10 Pocket Pals and 6pockets to choose from in the Christmas AppliquePockets Design Pack.

STEP: 2

Cut your applique fabric first, using one of the threefollowing methods to create a template. 1.) Usingembroidery software: open the Pocket Appliquedesign and print the first color stop only. Cut thepocket out and use it as a template to cut yourapplique fabric. 2.) Using your embroidery machine:Open the Pocket Applique design and embroider thefirst color stop only on the backing. Remove thebacking from the hoop and cut the pocket out to useas a template for your applique fabric. 3.) Using yourembroidery machine: Open the Pocket Appliquedesign and embroider the first color stop only directlyon the applique fabric. Then remove the design fromthe hoop and cut out the applique piece along thedieline. Set the applique piece aside.

STEP: 3

Now you will embroider the Applique Pocket. Loadthe Applique pocket design into your machine. Hoopa piece of tear away backing and embroider the firstcolor stop, which is the dieline for the applique piece.Stop the machine.

STEP: 4

Spray the back of the applique piece with sprayadhesive and place the applique piece, face up, insidethe dieline.

STEP: 5

Start the machine again and finish embroidering thispart of the design.

STEP: 6

Remove the applique piece from the hoop. Cut awaythe extra backing leaving about a 1/4 to 1/2" ofbacking around the top and sides of the applique thengently tear away the backing from the bottom of theapplique. Place a couple pieces of tape to the back ofthe applique and set aside. **Please read all of thefollowing steps before continuing.

STEP: 7

When you hoop the garment, you will need a hoopbig enough to embroidery the Pocket Pal and thePocket. The largest Pocket Pal with Pocket measures6 7/8" high x 3.53" wide. All designs start and end atthe same spot (see step 9). (If you do not have a hooplarge enough you can embroidery the Pocket Pal firstthen re-hoop the design, line up the pocket below thePal and embroider. The center point is right at the topof each Pocket.)

STEP: 8

Now you will embroider your pocket pal on yourgarment.

STEP: 9

Upload the Pocket Finish file in your machine andembroider the dieline. (All designs start & end at thesame spot so you can load the Pocket Finish file andit will embroider in the correct spot.) After the dielinehas embroidered, stop the machine and place thecompleted applique pocket inside the dieline.

STEP: 10

Continue embroidering the design until it iscompleted. Remove the garment from the hoop andgently pull the tear away from the pocket.

STEP: 11

You are now finished with your new adorable PocketPal.
