MADE IN AUSTRALIARossi Boots are one of the few remaining boot makers committed to manufacturing in Australia. Our factory employs skilled sewers, cutters and craftspeople, retaining manufacturing skills in Australia and imbuing our products with the quality that comes from taking pride in our craft.

FACTORYWe’ve come a long way since Arthur Rossiter started making boots in his backyard shed in 1908. Technology has changed, and the factory is bigger, but our principles of craftsmanship, quality and comfort remain the same.

Today, our factory capabilities are unique in the market place. We have an in-house design team, we sew our own uppers, we make soles and have advanced expertise in safety wear and professional footwear requirements. This provides us with the ability to make to order, allowing us to create bespoke orders for customers in various professional fields. In a world of fast and disposable fashion, we stubbornly choose to maintain our old fashioned values by crafting quality boots that stand the test of time and are a pleasure to wear. When you invest in a Rossi Boot, you get timeless quality and attention to detail other brands have long forgotten.

CONVENTIONAL L ASTINGOften called traditional lasting, Rossi Boots uses this technique for strength and durability. The leather upper is pulled around the last, wrapped underneath and cemented to the inner sole. The extra leather wrapped under the boot is one of the secrets to our boots durability as it prevents splitting at the sole and damaging water leakage.

Conventional lasting is a tricky business requiring skilled practitioners and specific machinery. The leather is heated and steamed to make it supple and responsive, it’s then pulled over the last and expertly fitted with precision by highly trained operators.

In an era where boot manufacturers are cutting costs and minimising materials, it’s commonplace to use the ‘strobel’ technique, where the edge of the upper is stitched to the insole, allowing splits to occur where the seams meet. Conventional lasting uses more materials, but time has shown us it is the best way to make a hardy boot that stands up to daily wear giving you the best boot possible.

THE HIDESQuality leather is our passion. It’s part of our tradition and one of the things we love most about boot making. We search the world for the best hides and inspect each individual hide before it is cut to ensure that only premium, thick leather is used and flaws are discarded.

These days we use a computer to map out pattern pieces on the hide and instruct our cutting machinery, but since day one and still today, a skilled leather craftsperson ensures that only the best leather is used for every boot.

SAFET Y CERTIFICATION

Rossi Boots safety footwear is certified to AS/NZS 2210.3:2009 & EN ISO 20345:2011.

To achieve this high standard, safety boots are subjected to drop tests to 200 joules as well as other rigorous testing.

Musk is built on Rossi’s standard fitting Sturt last, but with a new boot construction to create a narrower heel and ankle fit. The V-shape elastic pulls to the foot and eliminates bulk in the front of the boot, creating a snug fit and protection from ankle turns. Suitable for all types of work as well as play.

THE STITCHDOWN METHOD

Rossi’s stitchdown desert boot tradition – stitching the upper to the midsole - started in the 1950s with our Original Ripple-soled desert boot. While the look is simple, stitchdown construction requires skilled craftsmanship to achieve sleek lines and classic desert boot finishes - something we reckon we’ve mastered over the last 65 years.
