Ensuring all Standards Appear in the PowerTeacher Gradebook and SBRC Report Card
11/26/2012 PowerTeacher Tasks 5
Standards appear in the PowerTeacher Gradebook only if it has been checked/selected for an assignment (e.g., test, homework, project, etc.). To ensure that all standards appear in the PowerTeacher Gradebook and there are no missing grades in the SBRC report card, teachers will need to create an “assignment” with all standards selected for all classes/content areas. The name of the assignment should make it clear of its purpose (e.g., “All Standards Listing”). This assignment should NOT be published as it is intended only to help teachers identify standards that do not have any standards‐based grades.
1. Create an assignment per the instructions found manual section entitled “Creating an Assignment and Connecting Standards” ( e.g., Score Type=”Points”; Possible Points = 0).
2. Remember to name the assignment so it is clear that the purpose of the assignment is only to ensure all standards appear in the PowerTeacher Gradebook and SBRC Report Card (e.g., All Standards Listing). If desired, Type a note in the Description as a reminder about the purpose of this assignment.
3. Uncheck the checkbox for “Include in Final Grade”. 4. Set the Date Due to near the end of the Trimester. 5. Click on the Publish Tab and verify that the checkbox for Publish is NOT checked. 6. Click on the Standards Tab. 7. Scroll and locate the specific content area standards (e.g., Math) and click on all content area standards
checkboxes. 8. Click on Save. 9. Click on the Scoresheet Tab and Student View mode 10. Verify all standards are now listed. 11. Repeat for every class

Selecting the Correct Successful Learner Trait
11/26/2012 – PowerTeacher Tasks 8
Currently, there are two (2) sets of Successful Learner Trait (SLT) standards for Grades 1 to 5 that should be used. Check with your principal as to which set of SLT standards your school is using before creating any assignment. Also, review the following Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 have two forms of the SBRC Report Card:
1. Grade Level Report Card (Successful Learner Traits are reported for each major content area; e.g., Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies). Available for ALL Grade Levels
2. Grade Level Report Card ‐ Form B (“Self‐Contained Classroom”)
(Successful Learner Traits are combined across major content areas into “Self‐Contained Classroom). Available for Grade Levels 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 only.
Below are PowerSchool Gradebook screen pictures of how each of set of standards looks like in the gradebook: IMPORTANT: It is important that you select the correct set to ensure grades appear on the standards‐based report card. DO NOT use any Successful Learner Trait Standards that begin with the letters SK. These standards are not linked to the report card. If you have recorded any grades using these standards you will need to move grades from the standards beginning with SK to those that begin with SLT. Below is an example of which standards you should NOT check
