My interests in common with most Architecture Firms are the design of residential, mixed-use, commercial, and architectural restoration with the interweaving of sustainable features and modern technologies. While renovating Albert Frey’s North Shore Yacht Club in Salton Sea, CA, I gained first hand experience working to restore a piece of Mid Century Architecture. With the types of projects that most Architecture Firms cover and their approach to stand face to face with the sustainability issues around the world, I strive as a professional, just as Architecture Firms around the world strives to create an ideal surrounding for our future generations. Following my graduation from the University of Michigan in 2005, I was recruited by Holt Architects, Inc. My initial role as a Design Specialist required that I engage several municipal and commercial projects from inception through design development, and finally through the construction document phase. As a result, my knowledge of contemporary building enclosures, combined with my disciplined work ethic, has elevated my responsibilities to Chief Designer/Project Manager. My leadership experience has given me the ability to confront any challenge I may encounter with determination and vigor. I believe that during the process of program enclosure, it is critical to develop a method of collective engagement with a building design team. I am confident in my ability to work independently as well, and have developed the skills to direct a team through the execution of a vision. In addition to my growth within the office environment, I am actively pursuing professional licensure to further my standing in the profession. I have attached my resume and work sample pages providing additional information regarding my undergraduate work, experience and employment. I can provide a list of personal and professional references upon request. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with you how my education and experience would benefit your organization. Thank you for your time. Best, Dustin M. Infante

To Whom it May Concern:

I am seeking an innovative company to which I may contribute the diverse experience and technical abilities I have developed throughout my career. My interests in common with most Architecture Firms are the design of residential, mixed-use, commercial, and architectural restoration with the interweaving of sustainable features and modern technologies. While renovating Albert Frey’s North Shore Yacht Club in Salton Sea, CA, I gained fi rst hand experience working to restore a piece of Mid Century Architecture.

My initial role as a Design Specialist required that I engage several municipal and commercial projects from inception through design development, and fi nally through the construction document phase.

I am confi dent in my ability to work independently as well, and have developed the skills to direct a team through the execution of a vision. In addition to my growth within the offi ce environment, I am actively pursuing professional licensure to further my standing in the profession. I have attached my resume and work sample pages providing additional information regarding my undergraduate work, experience and employment. I can provide a list of personal and professional references upon request. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with you how my education and experience would benefi t your organization. Thank you for your time.

RIVERSIDE CONVENTION CENTERSchematic Design phase for the expansion and renovation of the existing City of Riverside Convention Center. The Center, built in 1972, Riverside, California, is comprised of approximately 50,000 square feet (sq. ft.) of ball rooms, flexible meeting, and exhibit hall space. The schematic program proposes approximately 30,000 sq.ft. of additional space divided throughout the building’s 3 levels. This includes the expansion of the exhibit hall and additional square footage of breakout rooms. Other proposed expansion areas include a concourse, restrooms, lobbies, ballrooms, roof top terrace, storage rooms, and service areas. The proposed schematic recommends the renovation of the Center’s plaza featuring enhanced hardscape and landscape, illuminated fountains, elements of military heritage, seating and gathering areas, attractive lighting, improved access to adjacent Hotels, and a pedestrian bridge that connects the Center to Third Street.

BEN CLARK TRAINING FACILITYMaster planning project for the County of Riverside. This project contains a small grid of existing streets and buildings transferred with the property from the March Air Force Base. These facilities include a two-story administrative building, 4 three-story dormitory/office buildings, and 170-seat auditorium/multi-purpose building with a full kitchen, dining area, and sound studio. The most recent structures built on the site are 5 single-story, pre-engineered steel buildings . In addition to the permanent structures there are two groups of temporary modular buildings that are occupied by the Sheriff Academy, California Highway Patrol, Fire Department, and Riverside Community College. The topography of the site is generally flat, with a gentle slope from the northwest to the southeast. Vegetation on the site is primarily composed of non-native grassland with small patches of native shrub species.

DETROIT AUTOMOTIVE ARCHIVEConceptual Design project at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. The Detroit Automotive Archive Library serves as an urban hub in the form of a Transit Station that connects the city to the surrounding areas. Using the circulation of the heart as a diagram, the Archive brings together multiple facets of its urban surroundings. It serves to relate information and to help people commute from different reaches of the urban setting. With Detroit being one of the most powerful and sprawling cities at one time in American history, the Automotive Archive and Transit Station not only focuses on the documentation of the automotive industry and it’s vast history, it also looks deep into the cities urban mesh. This project was selected for publication by the Accreditation Board.

The wire frame model below represents the circulation through an existing library. The Red Wire repre sents the path of a pedestrian entering the structure to retreive a book and then exit. The Tan Wire represents the movement of a library employee throughout their typical day. A circulation diagram was produced using blood flow through the heart as a model. Old blood in; oxygenated blood out.

The Detroit Automotive Archive was selected ‘High Achievement’ by the Accreditation Board at the University of Michigan. Through a series of investigations and understandings, one was able to see the larger picture involved in The City of Detroit. Detroit is one of the most poverty stricken cities in America. With decline of jobs lies the decline of life. Detroit is dying to be born again.
