FROM DAWN TO DUSK

… an artist’s look at farming, agriculture, and an Ashe County way of life…

Small farms once were the mainstay of Ashe County – from cattle, tobacco, and green beans and their markets - we have come full circle to organic veg-etables, meats, and chees-es. The hours required to be a successful farmer and their dedication have not changed appreciably over the decades.

Artists have created new works centered on the theme of farm-ing. From Dawn to Dusk runs from July 9 through August 2. The opening reception will be held in conjunction with the July Gallery Crawl from 5 – 8 p.m. on July 11.

Participating artists include Kim Abernethy, Joanie Bell, Lea Booth, Doug Butler, Brenda Carson, Kelly Clampitt, Evalynn Halsey, Peggy Laine, Christine McCarty, Judy Mitchell, Gerry Patterson, Scot Pope, Betty Powell, Holly Soukup, Audrey Spencer, Susan Van Wyk, Dawn Wicklow, and others.

Stop by the Ashe Arts Center in July for a nostalgic look at farm-ing of the past and a glimpse at agriculture of today.
