EmbraceBent strips of metal gently touch each other while providing enough support when pressure is applied to the seat.
Raising the EdgeDesigned on top of an existing building, this cafe and garden uses the roof as a landscape while providing shaded areas for eating, raised platforms to embrace “the edge” feeling, and a system of open trusses and planks to allow water to flow to the existing drainage system.

Ending a Repetitive Element
StairsEntry onto the roof is a significant moment that should be celebrated. Emphasis placed on the stairs
becomes a precedent for my design.
Different size wood planks express the amount of movement and activity on the varying platforms. Higher platforms, located at the center of the roof, give students the thrill and experience of being close to the edge.

Sight, Sound and CraftA competition open to all students in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies - hosted by a Switzerland Toy company
For the competition, a 45cm x 45cm board was pre-sented along with a functional prototype.
Naef Toys is based on the modernist movement and pro-duces mainly wood toys and
puzzles for all ages.
The bright primary colored piece inside acts as a main support to stabilize the sides,
and it is revealed by very small exposed square hole on the outside edges created by
the joints.

Structure not only stands to give life and support for a building, but also has the opportunity to enhance the architectural idea by means of providing ornament and defining the space, function, and movement throughout.
