ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, PRODUCTIONSecond Stage Theater seeks an Associate Artistic Director, Production, for maintaining, developing, and executing the highest quality artistic product for the institution.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSOCIATE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, PRODUCTION• Supervise productions, in an artistic capacity, production throughout the casting, rehearsal, and preview/performance process

• Propose and develop projects for season programming at all venues. Identify and cultivate projects to expand institutional

pipeline needs and/or foster relationships with artists pipeline needs and/or foster relationships with artists

• Cover readings, workshops, productions, and festivals in NYC and regionally

• Coordinate with Casting Directors for productions and readings

• Provide artistic content for marketing materials, speeches, grant proposals, and other written materials as needed

• Recommend creative staff for productions; including designers, directors, and stage managers

• Reports directly to the Artistic Director. Accountable for management and execution of all job responsibilities and functions

• Assists in the management of Artistic Fellow and literary interns

•• Establish and maintain relationships with peers in the industry

• Work with Second Stage commissioned writers

• Represent the theater at various industry events

REQUIREMENTS• Minimum of 5 years of appropriate industry/job experience
