March 2007 • Exhibited at the United States Institute for Theatre Technology National Conference in Phoenix, AZ

Work exhibited involved the use of large-format printing in conjunction with the Production "Galileo" produced at Auburn in October of 2004.

As Technical Director, I developed techniques to utilize printed media as scenic elements. I assembled a laboratory for printing large format computer graphics and researched techniques for mounting the prints. I printed graphical images, some individual sheets of paper as large as 7.5 feet long by 4.0 feet wide. These were combined to create larger elements, including a 12-foot diameter representation of the planet Jupiter, and a series of archways, the largest being 30 feet wide by 24 feet tall. Through his innovation with printed media, and by extending the volume of pieces that were flown on the overhead counterweight rigging system, the abilities of the Department of Theatre for creative expression through technical elements was extended.

For my work on Galileo, I was recognized by peers in my discipline in 2004 with the Faculty Technologist Certificate of Merit Award from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival.
