    Dear Athletes, Coaches and Athlete Representatives:

    The TT12 Local Organizing Committee for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials is proud to welcome you to Historic HaywardField and TrackTown USA on behalf of the cities of Eugene and Springfield, Lane County and the state of Oregon.

    Since the moment the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team trials came to a close, we have been planning for the next nine days ofcompetition and striving towards our goal to host the Best Meet Ever! Thousands of volunteers have been working to build onwhat was launched in 2008. Renovations have been made to Hayward Field and the track resurfaced to benefit the competitors,

    additional seating has been added to accommodate even more fans of our sport, and the TrackTown Festival is bigger and betterfor the 2012 Trials.

    Many members of this community have worked tirelessly on behalf of TrackTown 12 to provide the best-possible experience foryou, your families and our other visitors as you pursue a spot on the Worlds Best Team. We wish you the best of luck in yourefforts and hope that you will let us know if there is anything we can do to assist with your stay or with practice and competition.

    This event is a continuation of an excellent partnership with USA Track & Field and the United States Olympic Committee tostage outstanding events for athletes and fans. The USATF and USOC leadership has created many of the policies relating to theconduct of the event, including qualifying procedures, declarations, heat sheets, and the other rules of play. The LOC's role hasbeen to work within this framework to create The Best Meet Ever!

    The fans of TrackTown USA are known around the world for their passion, enthusiasm, and appreciation of the sport. When youjump, throw, run or race walk here, the fans celebrate with you. And they celebrate not only your performance, but also thecountless hours you have spent prior to this event in pursuit of your dreams.

    Please join our fans of all ages in the TrackTown Festival where you can be celebrated on the festival stage, interact with thefuture young stars and fans of our sport at the Starting Block, give autographs and be appreciated for your performances andpersonalities. Good luck in your competition, and enjoy yourself at Hayward Field.

    be a current member of USATF. Only the individualsspecified by participating athletes for this purpose will beallowed to receive a WP credential. Personal medicalreceiving this pass must have a medical license on file withSandy Snow. There is no stadium access with this credential.

    Stadium Pass Credential (best option for family memberor Friend)Personal support designated to receive a K mustbe a current member of USATF. Only the individuals

    specified by participating athletes for this purpose will beallowed to receive a K credential. There is no warm-upaccess with this credential. Seating in section K is on a firstcome first served basis.

    USATF reserves the right to deny or revoke a RC, WP, orK credential to any personal support who USATF hasreason to believe (a) has committed an anti- doping ruleviolation or materially contributed to the commission of ananti- doping rule violation; or (b) is under investigation by theUnited States Anti- Doping Agency (USADA) or otherauthorities with respect to a potential anti- doping rulesviolation; or (c) has engaged in conduct deemed by USATF toreflect a pattern of unethical behavior.

    Other stipulations that apply to WP and K credentials:

    Must not have a violent felony conviction.

    Must not have a non-violent felony conviction within3 years.

    Any unauthorized person in possession of acredential and any unauthorized person found in acredential-restricted area (the athlete warm-up areas,or other restricted zones) will be immediatelyescorted from the facility, the credential will berevoked, and the unauthorized person may be subjectto penalty.

    Parking at Hayward Field

    Parking is not available near the competition/warm-up facility.Athletes and their credentialed support staff are stronglyadvised to ride the event shuttle buses for the quickest andmost convenient access to Hayward Field.

    Dropping Off Athletes at Hayward Field

    Private cars that display an Athlete (A), Registered Coach(RC) or Warm-up (WP) credential may drop off athletes at thedesignated zone outside the Athlete Entrance on 18th Avenue.To reach this location, vehicles will need to travel north onAgate Street to the credential check point near the intersection

    of Agate Street and 18th Avenue. After displaying the propercredential an Athlete (A), Registered Coach (RC) or Warm-up (WP) credential the vehicle may continue west on 18thAvenue to the designated drop off zone. Please refer to theenclosed map.

    Shuttles to Hayward Field & Lane CC Practice Facility

    An Athlete Shuttle Service is available and has stops at thefollowing locations: the Downtown Eugene Hilton, the ValleyRiver Inn, Phoenix Inn, and Holiday Inn Express. The Athleteshuttle is a free service available to Athlete, Registered Coach,

    or Athlete Representative credential holders. Please show yourcredential when boarding the shuttle.

    Shuttle to Accreditation, Auzten Stadium

    Van service to the Accreditation for Athletes and RegisteredCoaches is available from Hayward Field from 9am 7pmdaily starting Wednesday, June 20 th through Saturday, June 30and 9am-12pm on Sunday, July 1. The vans will be locatedoutside Entry D on 18th Ave next to the Athlete Shuttle stopShuttle drop-off/pick-up at Hayward Field will be located on18th Avenue at the main athlete entrance.

    Shuttle Hours of Operation

    Shuttle hours of operation will vary by day depending uponthe hours for Hayward Field and Lane CC Practice Facility.When these facilities are open, the shuttles will runapproximately every 30 minutes. Detailed daily shuttleschedules will be available at each stop and online atTrackTown12.com.Shuttle buses will operate during thefollowing times:

    Tickets

    Athletes wishing to purchase tickets for family and friends can

    order online at GoDucks.com or 1-800-WEBFOOT or you canpurchase them at Hayward Field at the ticket windows locatedon the outside of the Bowerman Building in the northwestcorner of the venue(facing 15th Street). Please bring yourcredential and inform the person assisting you that you are acompeting athlete. Tickets are subject to availability.

    Athlete Services: Hospitality & MedicalAth lete Servi ce Representat ives

    Athlete services representatives will be available at the PortlandInternational Airport, the Eugene airport, the Hilton Garden Inn Beaverton, the Living Learning Center and the Hayward FieldRelaxation tent. These areas will be staffed with personnel whocan provide assistance with meet information, medical services,athlete transportation, housing, etc. Please see these locations fortheir hours of operation.

    Additionally, TrackTown 12 greeters will be stationed atlocations throughout Eugene and Springfield.

    Ath lete Hospi tal ity

    Athletes will have access to three hospitality locations: the Vistarooms on the 12thfloor of the Hilton Eugene, Performance Hallon the ground floor of South building in the Living LearningCenter (LCC) and Field Four inside the venue.These hospitality areas are designated for athletes, registeredcoaches and those with a green credential or Warm-up credential.You must have your green credential with you in order to enter.The hospitality area provides light snacks, beverages, television,computers, internet access and electronic gaming. These areas

    will be open according to the schedule seen above.Friends and Family hours are between 3p-5p daily at LLC and theHilton. Friends and family members who wish to visit these areascan only enter during the stated hours, must be accompanied bytheir athlete host, and must be wearing the F&F wristband issuedto their athlete contact. Please DO NOT LEAVE CHILDRENUNATTENDED in these areas.

    Hayward Field Medical Treatment Center

    The Hayward Field medical treatment center will offer a fullrange of services by medical professionals including athletictrainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists,physicians and nurses. Credentials are needed to receive

    treatment.These health care professionals can provide athletes withmodality treatments including deep and superficial heat, cold, andelectrical stimulation as well as hands-on treatment methods, icebaths, injury assessment and triage. A medical surveillance teamconsisting of trainers and doctors will be on the field of play at alltimes during competition.

    Medical Treatment Services will be available at the Hilton,Downtown Eugene from 2:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. from Friday, June22 through Saturday, June 30.

    Personal Medical Professionals

    Tented space will be available on a first-come basis near the memedical tent for personal medical professionals who have anWarm-up Area (WP) credential. Personal medical professionalsmust provide their own massage tables and supplies. Theindividuals should identify themselves to the medical staff toavoid confusion and should only treat athletes for whom they arcontracted to provide services. Ice for personal medical use willbe available in meet medical.

    Aft er-Hours Medi cal

    An after-hours sickness call service will be provided by the locaorganizing committee. Service is available 24 hours a day.Physicians will be on call and can be reached by calling 541-608070. Please note this is strictly for medical situations that ariseafter the athlete medical treatment centers have closed.

    Drug Testing

    Athletes who participate in this competition are subject todrug testing performed by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency

    (USADA) in accordance with the USADA Protocol forOlympic and Paralympic Movement Testing.BE ALERT:Knowing your rights and responsibilities may savyou from making a mistake that could jeopardize your athleticcareer. The use of ALL dietary supplements is "at the athlete'sown risk of committing a doping violation."BE AWARE:Testing may take place at any time or after anyround - preliminary, qualifying, or final - USADA typicallyselects place finishers and random athletes. Once notified, youwill be accompanied by a chaperone until you report to theDoping Control Station. Athletes must report to the DopingControl Station immediately after notification unless there is anapproved reason for delay. Reasons for delay that will beconsidered include, but are not limited to, retrieving

    identification, attending an awards ceremony, locating an AthleRepresentative, cooling down, media obligations and preparingfor another event. If there is a valid reason for delay, inform thNotifying Chaperone so he/she can confirm with a DopingControl Officer.BE CLEAN:Checking to see if the medication you take isallowed could be the difference between passing your test andserving a doping ban. A search on USADA's easy-to-use GlobaDrug Reference Online, or a quick call to USADA's DrugReference Line (1-800-233-0393) , or a review of theTherapeutic Use Exemption procedure will help you understanda medication is allowed or prohibited.BE INFORMED:Watching USADA's short testing video will

    familiarize you with the drug testing process. When making travarrangements please allow enough time for drug testing at the eof your event. This will include providing a sample andprocessing paperwork.The adjudication of anti-doping rule violations or refusals to teswill be carried out by USADA. Athletes found to have committa doping violation will be disciplined according to penaltiesspecified by the World Anti-Doping Code and, if appropriate,applicable IAAF rules. Such penalties may result in a period ofineligibility as well as disqualification from the event.BE AWARE. BE INFORMED. BE ALERT. BE CLEAN.

    Warm-up Areas (Fields 3 & 4), Warm-up Times:

    The athlete warm-up areas at Hayward Field feature multiplefields, a straightaway and a track (please see enclosed map).The general warm-up area on field four, the straightaway andthe track are open to all credentialed athletes for warm-up orshakeouts.The day-of-competition warm-up area is located on theartificial turf field inside the warm-up track on field three, andis adjacent to the Clerks Tent. Only athletes on that daysstart list will be permitted to enter the day-of- competition

    warm-up area. Credentialed athlete support personnel willaccess to the perimeter around the day-of- competition field,and will be able to communicate with their athletes until theathlete is escorted to the field of play.The warm-up areas will be open at the following times:

    ProtestsProtests relating to matters which develop during the conductof the competition must be made in writing, only by an athlete,a coach with a RC credential or an athletes representativewith an AR credential on behalf of the athlete. The protestmust be completed, signed and submitted at the protest table atonce and no later than 30 minutes after the official posting ofthe results.

    Protest forms will be available at the protest table (seeenclosed map). The referees decision will be posted at the

    protest table and a copy will made available for the athletefiling the protest as soon as the information is available. A$100 cash fee is required to file a protest. The fee will be

    returned if the protest is upheld.

    Appeals

    If an athlete or his or her representative wishes to appeal thereferees decision, an appeal must be submitted in writing,signed and accompanied by an additional $100 cash appeal feeat the protest table, immediately and within 30 minutes afterthe action by the referee has been officially posted. The appealfee is non-refundable unless the appeal is upheld.

    Appeal forms will be available at the Protest Table. An appealmust be filed only by an athlete or an athletes representativeon behalf of the athlete. The Jury of Appeals decision will be

    posted at the Protest Table and a copy will be available for theathlete or coach filing the appeal as soon as a decisionregarding the appeal is made.

    Awards

    A gold medal will be given to the winner of eachchampionship event; a silver medal to second place; andbronze medals to third through sixth places.

    Team Processing

    2012 Olympic Games team processing includes bothcompletion of team sign-up and the USOC AmbassadorsProgram. These events are part of being an Olympian and

    must be completed as outlined below in order to compete atthe 2012 Olympic Games. Team sign-up will be somewhatlonger than usual because athletes will be sized for USATFcompetition gear as well as the USOC casual gear and theOpening Ceremonies uniforms. Athletes will also be asked toselect and order their Olympic ring and visit the tailor foralterations. Athletes should plan on at least 2 hours for teamsign-up. The Ambassadors Program (which is mandatory)will take approximately 3.5 hours. Athletes should take thesetime allowances into consideration when making housing andtravel plans. The USOC and USATF will cover the cost of ahotel room (two per room) for any athlete making the teamthat has to remain an additional night because they cannot

    depart for home because of the Ambassadors Program.Athletes who expect to make the Olympic Team should booktheir housing to cover the additional night.

    Team Sign-up

    The top four (4) finishers, who have achieved the Olympicqualifying standard(http://www.usatf.org/events/2012/OlympicGames/entry/qualifyingStandards.asp), in each event and the top eight (8)finishers in the 100m and 400m will be asked to complete

    Olympic Games team processing.Athletes who are to benominated to the 2012 Olympic Team must declare their intentto represent the U.S. in London no later than the morningfollowing the final of their individual event. Athletes whosefinals are on July 1st must complete team processing on theday of their final individual event. Processing of athletesincludes photographs, travel planning, uniform sizing andtailoring, Olympic ring ordering and team registration. Onerepresentative, selected by the athlete, may be present at theOlympic Team processing. Friends & family information willbe available outside the entrance of team processing.Athletemust bring their passports with them to Team Processing.

    Olympic Ambassadors ProgramThe Olympic Ambassadors Program is a mandatory USOCprogram for all athletes who make the 2012 Olympic Team.Its main goal is to expose 2012 U.S. Olympic Team membersto expectations, roles, and responsibilities of representing theUnited States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Allathletes, who will be traveling to London, are required toattend the USOC Ambassador Program during the date andtime assigned to their event. When booking air travel andhousing for the Olympic Trials, please make sure you take thisinto consideration. The USOC and USA Track & Field willprovide some financial support to those who must stay over totake the Program.No athlete will be allowed to compete at the

    2012 Olympic Games if they have not taken this course.Team processing will be located in the Eugene HiltonPlaywrights Hall located on the lobby level of the hotel. TheAmbassadors Program will be held in the Bloch Room alsolocated on the lobby level of the hotel. Athletes who qualify tocomplete team processing should arrive promptly at the datesand times below:

    Uniform GuidelinesAthlete competition attire worn at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials is governed by United States Olympic Committee (USOC) andInternational Olympic Committee (IOC) regulations. Per USATF's agreement with the USOC, the athlete clothing policy (hereinafterGuidelines) for the Olympic Team Trials will allow both club names and a manufacturer's name/logo on an athlete's attire. The sizeof all logos must comply with the below Guidelines.Athlete attire worn at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials Track & Field (the Event), must be in accordance with the guidelines below.The competition and warm-up attire of Athletes may only have advertising and/or identification as permitted under these Guidelines.Any advertising or other identification on such attire not specifically permitted under these Guidelines is strictly prohibited and willconstitute a breach of these Guidelines. Any other advertising on or by or otherwise associated with an Athlete is prohibited, including

    but not limited to, body painting, tattoos, jewelry, hair dying, hair shaving, the use of any flags, banners, T-shirts, hats, and any otherform of display of advertising.Should an Athlete wear two pieces of clothing of the same nature during the Event, e.g., T-shirt under a vest and/or leggings under apair of shorts, the under garment, if visible, must be clean and free of any markings.These Guidelines apply to the whole duration of the Event, including, but not limited to, the competition itself, warm-up areas, allceremonies (victory, opening, and closing), interviews, and press conferences staged by USATF or designated affiliates.It is the responsibility of the Athlete to ensure his/her clothing complies with these Guidelines. Strict adherence to these Guidelineswill be enforced at the Event. Templates showing the approved logo sizes can be found directly below. If an Athlete's attire does notmeet these requirements, he/she will not be permitted to wear such attire in the Event. Athletes may be subject to additional disciplinein accordance with USATFs bylaws and operating regulations.

    1.0 Vests/ LeotardsAthletes vests/ leotards should have the same color on the front and back.

    Advertising or other identification displayed on vests and leotards must comply with the following requirements in respect to allEvents.1.1 Manufacturer's LogosVests: The name/logo of the manufacturer of the attire may be displayed once on the front of the vest. Such display shall be in arectangular form with a maximum size of 30cm2 and with the lettering a maximum height of 4cm and the total logo a maximumheight of 5cm.Leotards (one piece, including upper body and lower body): The name/logo of the manufacturer of the attire may be displayed asfollows:Once on the front of the leotard. Such display shall be in a rectangular form with a maximum size of 30cm2 and with the lettering amaximum height of 4cm and the total logo a maximum height of 5cm; orTwice on the front of the leotard; once above and once below the waist, but not immediately adjacent to each other. Such displaysshall be identical, in rectangular form with a maximum size of 20cm2, and with the lettering a maximum height of 3cm and the totallogo a maximum height of 4cm.

    A graphic or figurative logo of the manufacturer (not including name or any text) may also be used as a decorative "design mark" onceor repeatedly as a strip not exceeding 10cm in width in one of the following positions, provided such use does not, in the opinion ofUSATF in its sole discretion, dominate or unduly detract from the appearance of the garment:

    Across the bottom of the sleeves;On the outer seam of the sleeves;Down the outer seams of the garment.Examples of permitted decorative design mark of the manufacturer, used as a strip, include, but are not limited to:

The maximum height of such display shall be 10cm. Use of the country name on an Athletes apparel may not be used ina font, form, or style similar to USATFs past or present National Team uniform, unless it is official USATF issued or retailmerchandise.1.4 National Team or Member Federation Logo or FlagThe National Team or Member Federation logo, flag, or national symbol may be displayed once on the front, above the waist, of thevest/leotard. The maximum size of such display shall be 30cm2 in area, with a maximum height of 5cm. Use of the National Team orMember Federation logo, flag, or national symbol on an Athletes apparel may not be used in a font, form, or style similar toUSATFs past or present National Team uniform, unless it is official USATF issued or retail merchandise.

    1.5 USATF Name/LogoThe name/logo of USATF may not be displayed on an Athletes vest/leotard, unless the logo appears on an official USATF issued pasor present National Team uniform or retail merchandise.1.6 National SponsorOnly when competing on a National Team, the name/logo of the Sponsor of the National Team may be displayed once on the NationalTeam vest/leotard on a separate patch. The maximum size of such display shall be 30cm2 with a maximum height of 5cm.2.0. Tops, T-shirts, Sweatshirts, Rain JacketsThe advertising or other identification displayed on tops, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and rain jackets must comply with the followingrequirements, in respect to all competitions.

    A graphic or figurative logo of the manufacturer (not including name or any text) may also be used as a decorative design markonce or repeatedly as a strip not exceeding 10cm in width. Examples of acceptable design marks are shown in section 1.1 above.Design marks may be displayed in one of the following positions, provided such use does not, in the opinion of USATF in its solediscretion, dominate or unduly detract from the appearance of the garment (as seen in Figure B below):

    3.0. Lower-body AttireAdvertising or other identification being displayed on lower body attire (e.g., socks, shorts, tights, but excluding leotards) mustcomply with the following requirements:

    3.1 Manufacturer's Name/LogoThe name/logo of the manufacturer of the attire may be displayed once (as seen in Figure C below). The maximum size of suchdisplay shall be 20cm2, with a maximum height of 4cm.     3.3. National Team or Member Federation Logo or FlagThe National Team or Member Federation logo, flag, or national symbol may be displayed once on the front of the lower body attire.The maximum size of such display shall be 20cm2 in area, with a maximum height of 4cm. Use of the National Team or MemberFederation logo, flag, or national symbol on an Athletes apparel may not be used in a font, form, or style similar to USATFs past or

    present National Team uniform, unless it is official USATF issued or retail merchandise.3.4. USATF Name/LogoThe name/logo of USATF may not be displayed on an Athletes lower-body attire, unless the logo appears on an official USATFissued past or present National Team uniform or retail merchandise.

    3.5. SocksThe name/logo of the manufacturer of the socks may be displayed once on each sock. The maximum size of such display shall be6cm2, with a maximum height of 3cm.The name of the Athlete may be displayed once on each sock. The maximum height of such display shall be 2cm.

    A graphic or figurative logo of the manufacturer (not including name or any text) may be used on socks as a decorative design markonce or repeatedly as a strip not exceeding 5cm in width across the top edge of each sock, provided such use does not, in the opinionof USATF in its sole discretion, dominate or unduly detract from the appearance of the socks. Examples of acceptable design marksare shown in section 1.1 above.

    4.0 ShoesThe name/logo of the manufacturer of shoes used by an Athlete is not restricted in size.5.0 Other Apparel5.1. The name/logo of the manufacturer of other apparel used by an Athlete during the course of the Event, including, but not limitedto: headgear, hats, headbands, gloves, glasses, sunglasses, and wristbands, may be displayed once on such apparel. The maximum sizeof such display shall be 6cm2.5.2. Personal BagsThe name/logo of the manufacturer of a bag may be displayed twice on each bag used by the Athlete. The maximum size of eachdisplay shall be 25cm2.

    6.0 USATF Registered ClubsAn Athlete who is a member of a duly registered club may, on their upper-body attire (as referenced in sections 1 and 2 above), havethe club name OR the club logo displayed on the front of the garment. The club name may appear on the back of the garment with thelettering a maximum height of 4cm, and no restriction in width.
