How To Have A “Made In Heaven

Marriage” On Troubled Earth

In The Beginning.......

• The concept of marriage was conceived in heaven in the heart of God (Gen 2:18)

• Man without woman was NOT good• Implying that man with woman should be

GOOD (happy, desirable, fulfilling, enjoyable etc)

• Woman was brought into Man’s world to make it better

• Implying that the world and life should be better for the man and the woman when they are together in marriage

SIN HAPPENED!!!!

Something went terribly wrong.....

The Problem

Gen 3:16It should be a great turn on for the man for

his woman to desire him.Naturally this should produce tenderness,

gentleness, affection and care from the manBut the verse indicates otherwise...

Gen 3: 16

• New Living TranslationThen he said to the woman, "I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.“

• NET BibleTo the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your labor pains; with pain you will give birth to children. You will want to control your husband, but he will dominate you." 

Gen 3:16c interpretation

The fallen sinful nature working in the woman will incline her to try to control and gain the upper hand over her husband but her husband will put her down by force if need be.

Satan manipulated and took advantage of Adam’s confession and hence his

reality

•Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my

bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

• Satan knew Eve was the strongest part of the strong structure of Adam and at the same time, the weakest part of the tender most part of Adam.

• So he struck there...

Implications and morale of the story

Every man needs to know the power he has been given and use it well

Every woman needs to know her powers as well and protect it from abuse and exploitation from satanic interception

Every man needs to be fully aware of the powers of his woman in and over his life and use it wisely

Rom 8: 18 - 22

• The curse on creation will expire and be lifted one day

• That expiry date/season is determined by the manifestation /revelation/unveiling of the sons of God

• As I manifest as a Son (huios) of God, I liberate creation around me.

• As I manifest as a son of God, I free myself from the effects of the fall and curse on creation

Huios - Son

• those who revere God as their father, • the pious worshippers of God, • those who in character and life resemble God, • those who are governed by the Spirit of God, • repose the same calm and joyful trust in God

which children do in their parents (Rom. 8:14, Gal. 3:26 ), and hereafter in the blessedness and glory of the life eternal will openly wear this dignity of the sons of God.

• Term used pre-eminently of Jesus Christ, as enjoying the supreme love of God, united to him in affectionate intimacy, privy to his saving councils, obedient to the Father's will in all his acts

The Key To Happiness In AChristian Marriage

• Husband and Wife must break and stay free from the influence of the fallen sinful nature that came from Adam

• Work to renew your mind to your new identity in Christ and resist falling back into old habits that came from the sinful nature that has been crucified on the cross

• Working and living according to the old sinful nature, its habits and thinking patterns will produce nothing but unhappiness in a marriage

Eph 5:22- 24

A marriage can only thrive when the wife defers to the husband.

A selfish, self-centered, demanding wife can destroy a marriage.

But notice that the husband is NOT given the responsibility to try to MAKE his wife submit!

It is between her and the Lord. Ideally, the husband will be so loving and

obviously dedicated to his wife’s well being that she will find it a joy to defer to him.

Certainly, even if the husband has lots of spiritual growing to do, he is more likely to experience that growth when his wife maintains a submissive spirit. 

Eph 5:25- 29

A selfish, self-centered, demanding husband can also destroy a marriage.

When a husband convinces his wife that he loves her with an unconditional, selfless kind of love, it makes it very easy for her to defer to his leadership.

Jesus sacrificed Himself for His bride, the church. Husbands are to love their wives with that same kind of

self-sacrificial love. This means more than just being willing to die for our

wives. It means sacrificing things, day-by-day, that we might prefer to do but that would not be in the best interest of our wives.

Of course, just because a husband loves his wife, doesn’t guarantee that his wife will always quickly reciprocate.

Remember the analogy of Christ and the church. Jesus is always loving. But sometimes those whom He loves do not respond with a submissive deference to Him like we should. He just keeps on loving us.

Is it possible to 100% divorce proof a

marriage?

A Divorce Proofed Marriage Is Possible Only....

If man and wife hate it as much as God hates it

If man and wife do not have a hardened heartIf man and wife will work with God to heal

cracks, wounds and hurtsEph 4:30-32

When temptation knocks?

Understand the science of temptation James 1:12-16 Heb 11:15,16

Do not play in the corridors of the enemy and expect not to be hit by him Eph 5:11 - 13

We had a bad fight, now what?

God is in the business of peace and reconciliation (Mat 19:6)

He has also brought every believer into the same business (2 Cor 5:18,19)

Husband and Wife must work with the Holy Spirit to resolve the issue together first

If they don’t come right after trying, then they must deploy Mat 18:15 – 17 protocol

Seek External Help (if necessary)

How you choose determines who you get If you choose after the flesh, you get
