An attendance- monitoring system maintains a daily record of a person's arrival and departure time from work or school.

Time and attendance systems are the modern-day equivalent of the paper time sheet or punch clock. They automate day-to-day tasks such as tracking work hours and calculating accrued

benefits, providing valuable information and making business more efficient.

An attendance-monitoring system serves as a time log that is set up as a computerized database.

Attendance Monitoring System for Student

Attendance Monitoring System for Employee

It tracks students' attendance and progress. They can request students' progress reports or transcripts.

It keeps records in order and is frequently updated. When seeking employment, an employee can request certain reports to be printed from the attendance-monitoring system.

OBJECTIVES

To provide registration and complete processing of an individual’s attendance, and can be interlinked to other information systems.

To create a more stable working environment.

Automatic generation of reports in case of long-time absence (illness, looking after sick family members, vacation, etc.).

To provide a detailed auditing of each processor’s work.

Page 7: Attendance Monitoring System_report

7

BACK

To allow effective student/employee attendance management which provides extra support.

To help the company or establishment to automate not only the morning roll calls but also labor forecasting and management activities.

To remove the inherent inaccuracies associated with manual registers and student/employee signatures, which are clearly open to abuse and demand time-consuming administration.

8

SIGNIFICANCE

It monitors an individual’s presence at any moment.

It outputs printout generation either as printer or xls output (attendance sheets).

It can easily track tardiness and patterns of absenteeism.

Users can also utilize a thin client – the intranet application for attendance data processing (employees can use the application for attendance data viewing).

9

The system takes away the need for students to pass paper registers around the class, makes falsifying attendance more difficult and removes the need for administrators to manually enter data into a database or spreadsheet.

Lecturers are also spared the task of passing on registers for analysis, therefore reducing time delays in identifying non-attendance.

For the employees, it calculates the actual hour of work and recording of overtime hours as well as the monthly total hours worked.

Time and attendance software can reduce the administrative hassles of managing paper time slips and reduce mistakes.

It can cut down on time theft: buddy punching, extended lunches, and other time tracking problems.

It also include basic accounting, auditing and reporting tools, giving the managers easy access to employee data and the applications to audit it for accuracy.

RESOURCES

CaptureIT System

Many colleges use the CaptureIT student proximity card as the student’s ID card. This provides added security, whilst helping make registration quick and easy.

Whenever a student registers, the CaptureIT database is immediately updated so that administrators have a real-time view of which students are on-site.

Attendance Reader

EMM_Box_72K

The reader offers input of 20 types of basic working time interruptions as well as definable additional interruptions. Codes and meanings of individual working time interruptions are configurable. The unit has a memory that can store 7000 passages without having to be emptied into the connected PC.

ID Card Scanning

Fixed Scanners The display gives confirmatory information to the student and administrative information to system supervisors.  The scan stations communicate back to the central application through the organization’s standard computer network infra-structure.

RESOURCES CONTINUED...

Portable Scanners A single scanner could cover a number of rooms plus places.   The portable scanner will need the operator to enter the location of use and event type and can then start scanning cards.  A range of portable scanners exist for different card types, to suit whether a wireless (e.g. wi-fi) solution is required and to match your budget.

Uni Nanny

It is an electronic attendance monitoring system, primarily designed to help improve attendance and retention. The Uni Nanny system is mobile, reducing registration time. The software improves the management of student attendance and can be imported into other student information systems, which can indicate any attendance problems.

RESOURCES CONTINUED...

It is generally a ‘clocking in’ process where people visit a fixed unit which is positioned at a central point. The Uni Nanny system is mobile and used within classrooms, thus eliminating queues and time-wasting registration procedures and the need for many fixed units across the university or college.

Face Recognition

System

It focuses on technology of contactless man and machine interface. It is no human touch biometric face detection and face verification system gives high accuracy and reliable security of a person’s need. It implies the biometric solution eliminates the usage of the buddy punching method and emphasizes on capturing the facial details along with the time.

RESOURCES CONTINUED...

These data are then stored in the database of the computer so that they could be retrieved anytime. With the usage of the biometric time attendance system, it eliminates the need of the paper register which was in use earlier for recording the attendance along with the time.

It achieves utmost accuracy in noting the timing data.

FACE RECOGNITION SYSTEM CONTINUED...

SYSTEM FEATURES

It is the simplest technology to be used for managing the time related data.

The easy installation procedure of this system is relatively simple.

It reduces the amount of data loss as, it emphasizes on electronic data storage.

It is based on 'no human touch' technology.
