Who is Community First Foundation and why did they develop GivingFirst.org?Community First Foundation is a Denver-based community foundation whose mission is to improve quality of life byincreasing community generosity and involvement. In 2004 we launched an initiative called Nonprofit Preservationto help preserve the future of nonprofits in the seven-county metropolitan Denver area. The GivingFirst program,which was created as part of the initiative, includes the GivingFirst.org Web site, support and education. Who can join?Nonprofit organizations that:• serve or have a headquarter located

in Colorado • have an operating budget greater

than $25,000 • have a 501(c)(3) status • file a 990 Form with the IRS• are not governed by a church

or booster club

What is the start-up process?1. Attend a one-hour introductory session

(see schedule below).2. Attend a training session for guidance

on completing your profile.3. Foundation staff will review

and validate your profile, then post it on GivingFirst.org.
