SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:-

Corporate social responsibility is their passion. They take pride not only in providing products that facilitate health and wellbeing, but also in giving back to society. It is part of their endeavor to be recognized as a company that is socially responsible and that cares for people.

Ironically, it was the devastation wrought by the tsunami that provided us with an opportunity to showcase their commitment. Many families were rendered homeless and several individuals went missing in the wake of this colossal disaster. At such a time, we felt it was their responsibility to help the victims.

They did so by partnering five NGOs working towards the rehabilitation of Indian and Sri Lankan victims.

Father Ceyrac Foundation

Donations were made so that the NGOs could provide immediate succors, and arrangements were also made to meet daily needs. They supplied fishing boats, built houses, helped in education and organizing mobile health vans. Within months, the victims were able to stand on their feet again and move on with their lives. Hope had won again.

Now in January 2006, they participated in the standard chartered Mumbai Marathon on behalf of child Line, an NGO working for children in distress. By supporting institution like child Line, they can ensure that such children, who need all company help to overcome their unfortunate circumstances, can look forward to a secure future.

They plan to take up many more such initiatives. They will continue to help those organizations that are doing exemplary work. Disaster and unfortunate incidents do occur, but they can make a difference in the lives of those affected and create a better world.

Page 23: Aventies Report Ir

to the demands and their competitors enjoy the fruit of their sales bearing less manufacturing

cost.

• The company would influence rapidly aging population and emerging markets, making a good

use of their globalization power.

• Strong emerging markets in the developed countries like Brazil, Russia, India and China as

THREATS:-

• Growing generic competition forced the company to cut offemployees according to the

transitional needs.

the company facing patent expirations for their most selling drugs would lower the gross selling

rates.

• United States is the major market of Sanofi Aventis and dollar decreased rates is directly

affecting the company profitability.
