Innovation in Business

THE little ART ROOM is an independent vibrant art studio, gift shop and a community hub in the centre of Hanwell. The studio offers art and career taster workshops for young people utilising the skills in the community and also provides mobile art sessions and a mobile gift shop. As part of the support they offer, Hanwell has seen a rise in retail occupancy and in the last 18 months vacancy rates have drop from 16% (national average 14%) to an amazing 8% with more enquiries on a daily basis.

Judges’ comments: “With a proactive boss behind them, THE little ART ROOM are always looking at new ways to grow, and successfully using the surrounding area to their advantage when moving forward.”

Apprentice of the Year

WinnerAll three of these apprentices should be recognised for their hard work, and inspiring effect they’ve had on each of their companies. They have all proven that determination, innovative ideas and the thirst for knowledge will get you noticed. The deciding of the winner for this category was by far the most difficult of the awards. Each of the finalists should be very proud.

Natalie has demonstrated a work ethic second to none and established herself as a key individual in the accounts and administration department, she has already moved through two ledgers with an incredible understanding of its function, shortening the development period by 50%.

Sanny Kumar, Clay Modelling Apprentice at Nissan UKSanny’s enthusiasm to learn is infectious and his hunger to learn has been described as ‘ravenous’. Continuously asking for feedback and ways to improve, Sanny was never satisfied with how things were.

Christina Walton, Collette Worldwide Holidays (Uxbridge College)Christina worked exceptionally hard throughout her apprenticeship and was always ahead of schedule in her assignments. Christina was able to complete a huge amount of work with only a few weeks training and managed to keep the whole department running through her diligence, commitment and sheer hard work.

The marketing campaign’s strategy is to increase its leadership in the existing market categories of applications, analytics and mobile solutions, and to position the company as a market leader in new categories.

WestfieldWestfield London created an unrivalled Christmas experience appealing to families and young professionals via ice rinks, Santa’s Grotto and longer opening hours. Strong promotion of USP services to make the shopping experience easier.

The ‘We are Christmas’ campaign was delivered across a number of channels, both external and in-centre from TV adverts running for six weeks to a robust PR strategy targeting coverage with key messages including charity, gifting and much more.
