He can not stay in the company of natural objects for enjoyment. He is constantly worried about the worldly success. The simple pleasures of life have become useless for him. In this poem the poet has presented a very pathetic situation of man in the modern world. The arrival of materialism has introduced new ways of leading life. The value of natural objects has decreased to a considerable extent. The modern man has nothing to do with the pleasures provided to him by the natural things.
