But if a man has all things but he didn't have any peace or calmness through out his life means it is utter waste of earning the money alone. Therefore professionalism and the family play a vital role in ones life, so we can't avert any one of these. It (professionalism and the family) looks like two eyes of a man. We can’t bear if any one gets lost.

 Hi all,

Hello friends,

I agree wid u all. Professionalism as well as family both is very essential for an individual. One needs to be financially in a good position to achieve any thing, which also needs the good support from his/her family. But it is not that family support is a must to achieve some thing. Many great people have become great though they have less or no support from family.

When it comes to maintaining a balance between the both I think its not possible in all the cases. As our friend "Vinvish" said it is easy to say but very difficult to do in practice. And To achieve our goals sometimes we need to sacrifice our family. Take for example the people in the army, in order to sever the country they have to stay away from their families. As it is mandatory. Hence balance between the both depends on ones profession and their ability to maintain that.

Hi all,

I agree with all. Both we need now a days, bcz should need spend time with family to relax in our machine life. Otherwise as one of friend said to relax we r going to psychotics. We can spend more time with family. Profession is need but not life is a profession.

Life is now a full of money.

Life is a full of joy and no need of much more money. Now a day’s people r moving to save money and earn money.

Money is needed but limited money is enough for peace of mind.

"Your r the owner of money, not money is the owner for u"

Balance between professionalism & family - GD Topics with Summary

Professionalism and family can be described as the two sides of the same coin as both are equally important in one's life. Professionalism and the family are looks like two eyes of a man. We can’t bear if anyone gets lost.

In this modern era, everyone is working like a machine, without considering their family, Even Many peoples working abroad cannot able to see their childrens. I found many case where the Childs mom will be introducing his/her Dad to the child.

A nice topic that is eligible to debate , from Ramkumar.OK let me discuss. As we know in this hurry burry world, everydody is lagging behind taking care of their family especially the children. What they are doing ?? the parents will leave the children in a cruch ?? and in evening they will get the child..Next case they will leave the child to grow under the guardians grandpa, grandma like that and weekly once they will go to meet their children. Also they are feeling happy to talk with their children in mobile.only voice....Solutions;---------1) why the husband and wife are sending away the old people , i mean their parents.Whay not they decide to live in a joint family..if they will live in a joint family, in evening they can see their children, in between the senior citizens will take care...

2) Also plan your weekly schedule what to do with the children ?if something is getting late in office, try to get permission ahead to avoid last minute hurry burry..try to finish the work ahead...if not we will maintain a gap with family

3)More in a day we will bw with computer, instead of family:More in a day we will be fingering in keyboard than to handle the childrenMore in a day we will be hogging the mouse, than to enjoy with familyMore in a day we will be talking in moblie, than to express thoughts inside the family ---So friends first give importance to family than to work, even though work load is more try to have a schedule for a day.Dont let it be failed ...to avoid misunderstanding and all problems in the family

Finally be satisfied with what you have.

Professionalism is not all about being a workaholic. It is all about knowing your priorities and acting professionally both at the workplace and at home. You can be at office all day and yet do things that are necessary for your family and you can also be at home all day and do nothing for the family. People have debated this more often in the recent times as everybody has very little time with so many things piled up. A professional is person who know "How to say NO". It is important to develop the habit of saying no. For e.g. if your friend asks you if you can pick him up from the golf course and you find that your child also needs to be picked from school and you have some work in office, if you agree to what your friends request, yet try to complete your work in office get late to pick your friend and end up calling very late to tell your wife to pick your child that is not professionalism. In the other case, if you say sorry to your friend saying that you will be tied up with work and need to pick your child, your friend will surely understand and take the help of any other friend who is available.

Some questions we need to ask then is:1 Are the tasks you work on during the day the ones with the highest priority?

Page 4: Balance Between Professionalism and Family

2 Do you find yourself completing tasks at the last minute, or asking for extensions? 3 Do you set aside time for planning and scheduling? 4 Do you know how much time you are spending on the various jobs you do? 5 How often do you find yourself dealing with interruptions? 6 Do you use goal setting to decide what tasks and activities you should work on?

7 Do you leave contingency time in your schedule to deal with "the unexpected"?

8 Do you know whether the tasks you are working on are high, medium, or low value?

9 When you are given a new assignment, do you analyze it for importance and prioritize it accordingly?

10 Are you stressed about deadlines and commitments? 11 Do distractions often keep you from working on critical tasks? 12 Do you find you have to take work home, in order to get it done? 13 Do you prioritize your “To Do” list or Action Program? 14 Do you talk with your boss to prioritize the work you're doing? 15 Before you take on a task, do you check that the results will be worth the time put in?

If you find yourself in the higher end you are managing your professional as well as family life well.
