ay inyong maging Punong Barangay.
Hinihiling ko sa inyong lahat na patuloy tayong magkaisa at magtulungan para
sa kaunlaran ng ating barangay, sama-sama tayong magkapit bisig upang ang lahat ng
pagsubok ay ating malampasan, sikapin nating maging tahimik at payapa ang
kapaligiran sa lahat ng oras.

hinaing sa kabarangayan, masubaybayan ng tama ang mga kabataan at upang
mailayo sa masamang gawain,

patuloy na pagsasaayos ng mga pathway para sa kaginhawam ng mamamayan,
ganoon din ang proyektong Farm to Market Road at pagmimintina ng mga deep well para
sa kapakinabangan ng lahat.

TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.
Sama-samang magsimula, Walang Maiiwan sa pag-unlad ng ATIMONAN!

KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY
Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis parisukat, isa(1) sa loob at
isa (1) sa labas at isang bilog sa gitna. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis
parisukat ay nakasulat ang mga sumusunod:
BARANGAY BALUBAD– pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na bahagi
ng parisukat.
ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop sa
barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis parisukat.
Ang gitnang bahagi nasa loob ng hugis bilog ang mga sumasagisag sa
pagkakakilanlan ng barangay ay ang mga sumusunod:
LARAWAN NG BALUBID na sumasagisag na kung saan ay dito nagsimula ng
Kasaysayan ng “BALUBAD”.
PALAYAN na sumisimbolo pangunahing hanapbuhay na siyang pinagkukunan
ng masisipag na magsasaka sa barangay.
NIYOG na sumisimbolo sa pinagkakakitaan at pangunahing pinagkukunan ng
ikabubuhay ng mga mamamayan sa barangay.
MGA ISDA na isa sa mga pangunahing hanapbuhay ng mamamayan na
masasabing mayaman sa kalikasan at tunay na patuloy na iniingatan at
pinagyayamanang likas na yamang dagat.
MGA GULAY na sumisimbolo bilang patunay na ang mga magsasaka ay tanging
puhunan ay sipag at tiyaga sa pagtatanim ng iba’t-ibang gulay.
Ang pagkilala ay ibinibigay sa mga nag-ambag para sa pagsasa-ayos ng opisyal
na sagisag (logo) ng barangay at ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
KGG. RAFAEL A. ESTRADA – Dating Punong Barangay, nagpatupad ng ng
pagkakaroon ng opisyal na sagisag (logo) ng barangay.
SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY 2010-2013 sa pagdidisenyo ng logo.
SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY (KASALUKYAN 2013-2016) sa pagbibigay ng
kahulugan ng sagisag.
VISION
“ Isang barangay na ang mamamayan ay nagkakaisa;
sumasampalataya at may takot sa Diyos; Tumatalima sa
umiiral na batas; pinananatili ang kapayapaan at kaayusan;
malinis at luntiang kapaligiran at pinapangalagaan
ang likas na yaman.”
MISSION
Isang pamayanan na patuloy sa paglahok at pagtangkilik
sa mga kinauukulang ahensya ng pamahalaan;
mailapit ang mga mamamayan ng barangay para
sa proyektong pangkaunlaran, pangkabuhayan at
pangkalusugan para labanan ang kahirapan.
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY BALUBAD
Noong unang panahon ang ating bansa ay sakop pa ng mga Kastila. Noon,
ang nayong ito ay iilan pa lang ang naninirahan at ayon sa kanila ito ay madalang pa at
napakalalim ng ilog. Sa ilog ay napakaraming hayop na naninirahan na maaaring kainin ng
tao ang karne. Isa na rito ang tinatawag na Balubid. Ito ay isang uri ng hayop na kahawig ng
Bayawak na ang tanging kaibahan lang nito ay may layag o pakpak sa likod. Ang kinakain
lang nito ay mga dahon at mga bungang kahoy. Ang karne ay masarap tulad ng sa manok;
kaya ito ay gustong gusto ng mga tao. Sapagkat ang lasa ng karne ng hayop na ito ay
masarap kung kaya ito ay dinarayo ng mga karatig pook upang hulihin. At sapagka’t wala
pang pangalan ang pook na ito at wala pa silang masabi kung may mga taong nagtatanong
kung ano ang pangalan ng pook na ito kaya tinawag na lang nilang “Balubarin o Sitio
Balubid.”
At sa paglipas ng panahon sa pagsasalinsalin ng pagtawag, bago magkaroon
ng digmaan ang mga Pilipino at Kastila ito ay tinawag na nilang “Balubad na susog sa
pangalang Balubid.”
Simula noon ito ay nakilala na bilang Nayon ng Balubad.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Balubad is one of the coastal barangay of Atimonan, located about 5- kilometers away from the poblacion. It is traversed by Maharlika Highway bounded on the north by Lamon Bay, on the south by Barangay Kilait, on the east by Barangay Talaba and on the west by Barangay Kilait. It has a total land area of 276.661 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office composed of eight sitios –Tayuman 1, Tayuman 2, Labasan, Central, Riverside, Palayan, Cotabato and School side. Topography of the barangay is mountainous, valley and plain. Almost 98% of the land is agricultural. Definitive data were specified below.

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Balubad had a population of 2009 with a computed population growth rate of 0.29%. There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 71.08% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 19.16% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 9.76% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Balubad has a strong working population and low dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, secondary and college) is computed at
38.30% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Iglesia ni Cristo

3.2. GENERAL ECONOMIC PROFILE
36.15% or 100 hectares area of the barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are rice,
copra and vegetables. 50 hectares of the total agriculture area has an existing irrigation system
and the other 50 hectares is rain fed. Some of the populace are leaned to poultry production for
additional source of income.
