BASIC CORONAL POLISH PROCEDURE

DRY TEETHDry teeth with air/water syringe or 2x2 gauze.

DISCLOSE TEETHApply disclosing agent to all surfaces of the clinical

crown

RINSE AND ASPIRATEUse air/water syringe and HVE

POLISH WITH PROPHY CUPPolish facial/lingual surfaces of teeth to remove

areas of plaque

POLISH WITH PROPHY BRUSHUse brush on occlusal surface of posterior

teeth and stubborn stains on lingual surface of anterior teeth

FLOSSFloss interproximally with unwaxed floss

RE-DISCLOSECheck for missed areas

RE-POLISH IF NECESSARYIf any missed areas, use cup or brush to re-

polish to ensure all plaque has been removed prior to instructor check

HOME CARE INSTRUCIONSBrush at least three times per day using a soft bristle

toothbrushFloss at least once a day using

unwaxed flossUse mouthwash to help eliminate

bacteria and prevent halitosisVisit your Dentist every six months

to maintain a healthy oral cavity
