With this board you’ll be destroying urban spots like crack in the 80’s. Introduced to the line last season and instantly a team favourite. The extra wide JIB TBT TM gives you stability when you need it, like locking into presses. It has our super flexible and durable Tough CoreTM with Hammer EdgesTM. All that and still this is the most affordable board in the line.

Hailing from Iceland, the man, the myth with the unpronounce-able last name: Gulli Gudmundsson. Destroyer of urban spots, the double G, the man not to play games of shred or skate with. Here with his own custom graphic on the board he loves most when it comes to hitting the streets.

AIROBIC

We know what you think about when you’re all alone. ...Snow-boarding. And we know what you need for your habit. You need a board that works just as well hitting that rail that’s walkable from your apartment as it does lapping the park at your local hill. The Airobic was made to do all that.True twin shape based on PARK TBT TM with a wide center base to stable out your slides, presses and landings. Perfect soft park flex that makes this board super playful without getting too noo-dley.

GLOBAL WARMER

The G.W. aka Global Warmer is not a ‘Green’ board. It even has added carbon which is bad for nature but sure increases your pop. Is taking a fractional amount of sustainable materials and sandwiching it between plastic with a pot of glue really green though? A top-shelf park board with all of the tech yet it comes in a softer flex. Just be sure to carpool to the hill.

RIOT

The most tech of all our true twins. Triax glass, Core CoreTM and basalt stringers make this board more poppy than an opium farm in the South Pacific. This board can handle any and every line in the park. Ridden by the team when they want to keep smiling even if things get serious. The Riot is built on TWIN TBT TM and it packs the ultimate blend of performance, pop and stabili-ty. Point it, stick it, Yeah for it!

Seriously! What are you expecting to read here? This board has FREESTYLE TBT TM with a softer twin flex and true twin shape. And you know that only TBT TM offers you the unique combo of camber and reversed camber. Or if you wanna talk fruit; it’s like having two banana’s with a reversed banana in the middle. Super forgiving but it’s still got pop! Who wants a banana when you can have TBT TM?

If we had to describe what this board is good for in one word it would be: ‘whatever’. And we mean that in a good way. It just works for any kind of conditions, terrain or riding style. The Eve to our Evil Twin. True twin shape with TWIN TBT TM and a softer flex. A real park destroyer. There is nothing ‘girlie’ about this board. TRIPLE BASE TECHNOLOGY

A 3D base shape, combining camber and rocker

that actually works and improves your ride in all

conditions.

Over the past few seasons there have been

many new ideas in snowboard design, with the

majority relating to their camber. A traditional

camber snowboard is raised off the ground

between the feet such that the snow contact

edge forms a curve under pressure. This allows

the rider to carve, but it also causes the widest

points of the board to dig into the snow upon

turn initiation. A rocker or reverse camber board

has its central portion on the ground and the

widest points at its nose and tail raised. This

alleviates the problem of the edges digging in

and this is what makes rockers so forgiving to

ride. However, when the edge is under pressure

it is no longer pushed into the snow outside

the bindings, making rocker boards twitchier

to carve. There have been numerous attempts

to extract the best of both worlds, including flat

camber and camber between the bindings with

rocker outside.

These attempts were all rather a waste of time

because the patented Triple Base Technology

used in Bataleon snowboards had already

achieved this almost ten years ago! Instead of

separating cambered and rocker board sections

by separating the board into sections across

its width, Bataleon does so by separating the

sections down its length. In the centre (centre

base), along its full length, the board retains a

traditional camber profile. Along the edges (side

bases), a Bateleon board is pressed to already

have the shape of a traditional camber board

when that edge is under pressure. Therefore the

board does not need to flex to initiate a turn and

it carves better. Because they retain traditional

camber in the centre base section they can

store up mad pop for ollies so you don’t end up

riding a wet towel.

TBT is better than other board designs because

you get to have your cake and eat it too!

F.TOP VIEW

Triple base technology divides the nose and tail area into three parts.

1) The left side base for turning left.

2) The centre base section for going straight.

3) The right side base for turning right.

Triple Base Technology involves pressing boards that, at rest, possess

the shape that a traditional cambered board adopts during a turn, when

the edge is under pressure. We call this shape the Dynamic Shape.

The centre base section (2) features a classic full tip to tail camber for

responsiveness and pop. The edge sections (1 and 3) are concaved such

that they are raised off the floor, even at the boards’ widest points. This

results in less edge catches, and a more forgiving ride!

The edge section concaves (1 and 3) are progressive. They start off flat

in the binding areas and grow to a maximum uplift at the boards’ widest

points. This makes Bataleon boards forgiving to ride when going straight

as the edges at the widest points are far less likely to dig in and they still

carve really well because they don’t need to be de-tuned.

The unique aspect of TBT design is that the edges remain uplifted even

when bearing the full weight of a rider and when stationary. The edges

on a TBT board already have the shape of a traditional camber boards

edge during carving. When looking at hybrid camber shapes always ask

yourself ‘what happens when I stand on it?’ since you will be doing that a

lot when snowboarding.

TBT BENDS BOTH WAYS!

When riding on an edge, the camber is fully loaded with pop ready to

power you into your next turn and the Triple Base shape ensures that

the whole edge gets engaged as soon as the new turn is initiated. This

results in an even weight distribution along the full contact length of the

edge, which makes for the smoothest carving in history.

Using specially shaped moulds for pressing the boards creates the

patented TBT shape. A TBT board is made with the same amounts of

base, core, laminate, edges and top sheet as a regular board. Nothing is

added or taken away. Only the shape is changed!

Jib TBT is great for jibbing and

urban riding. The TBT is completely

symmetrical about the nose and tail. The

profile of these boards is trapezoidal

giving a slightly cambered overall shape.

On the centre base section, instead of

a smoothly curved camber there are

three flat sections: The boards are flat

between the feet with two flat sections

at the nose and tail that are angled

slightly so that the centre section is

raised off the floor slightly when it is not

under pressure. This allows the board

to carve like a camber and press like a

rocker! On the side bases the TBT uplift

begins under your feet for a super loose

and forgiving effect with the TBT uplift

angles minimised as works best on rail

boards. The extra centre flat base width

stabilizes your slides and presses.

Twin TBT is great for park riding. The

centre base section now features a

traditional (smoothly curving) rather

than trapezoidal camber profile, but

TWIN TBT retains a large enough flat

base width for easy presses and rail

slides. These boards feature longer

contact lengths between the feet than

JIB or PARK for more stability at speed!

Twin TBT is half way between the TBTs

specialized for riding rails and kickers.

Freestyle TBT is the most ‘all round’

TBT shape in the range. Featuring a

traditional camber profile on the centre

base section which possesses a

medium / wide width to retain decent

stability on presses and rails. There is

now a longer contact length (still without

TBT) between the feet to minimise

twitchiness at high speed. Freestyle

TBT is still symmetrical about the nose

and tail for equal performance when

riding switch as forwards. A ‘good for

everything’ shape, with fast edge-to-

edge freestyle looseness and great

overall stability.

A narrower centre flat base section

together with a longer flat section

between the feet delivers faster riding

with superb response edge-to-edge

and maximum stability at high speed.

With a very slightly directional TBT, the

board is optimized to ride forwards,

but is more than capable of performing

switch should the need arise. ALL

MOUNTAIN TBT does what it says

on the tin: performs over the whole

mountain. If a day for you starts with

bashing a powder stash, is followed by

piste cruising and finishes with a few

park laps then this is the profile for you!

TBT designed especially for off piste

charging. The narrowest centre flat

base width maximises edge-to-edge

agility and the widest TBT wings with

increased uplift angles on the nose

guarantees superb float through even

the deepest powder. Like the stance,

the flat section between the feet is set

back to put more turning power over

your back foot. Tapered tail TBT finishes

the ensemble, allowing these boards

to power out of turns, lofting massive

powder clouds.

POW TBT is TBT on steroids, with

everything maxed out to get that feeling

of surfing powder! The same narrow

centre flat base width as for freeride

TBT, but with both the TBT and the

stance set way back. Insane uplift

angles on the nose TBT means that you

float effortlessly no matter how hard you

crank those turns! The shorter, tapered

tail TBT works with the camel toe shape

to put the riders weight right over the

back foot without them having to lean

and ensures the most powder possible

is put up into the air on each turn. In

short, POW TBT makes you look like a

freeride superstar!

Park TBT is great for park riding and

jibbing with flat centre base widths and

lengths in between JIB and TWIN TBTs.

It retains the trapezoidal profile of the JIB

TBT boards for legit presses but adopts

a slightly narrower flat base section. This

allows PARK TBT to retain many of the

jib specific benefits on boards that are

usually slightly stiffer and with longer

contact length between the feet. These

boards are hence more stable at high

speeds. The TBT remains symmetrical

on the nose and tail for the same ride

switch as forwards.

Because TBT boards are pressed with the

shape of a traditional camber board under

carving pressure, no flexion is needed to initiate

a turn. This makes carving easier and our

boards feel narrower and more manoeuvrable

than a regular board of the same width. When

switching edges, the edge grip of a Bataleon

board fades out as the base becomes flatter.

When riding on a flat base the uplifted edges at

the widest points are less likely to catch and the

edge grip fades back in again as the opposing

edge is engaged. These factors add up to give

super fluid edge-to-edge transfers.

On a conventional snowboard, an under rotation

will often result in an out-of-control landing, or

worse, an edge catch to scorpion. TBT is a lot

more forgiving on landings. This is because the

edges of our boards are raised at the widest

points and are therefore far less likely to dig in.

The board therefore tends to automatically track

back to going straight on landings, even when

the rider is off balance, since it is the flat base

section which hits the snow first rather than the

nose or tail side base sections.

Because a Triple Base Board is pre-shaped in

a concave at its wider parts, those parts do not

dig in and plough through the snow, as they tend

to do on traditional camber boards. Less friction

makes for faster and smoother straight lining. No

more worries on flat cat tracks!

The concaved side edge sections on the nose

and tail float way better in deep powder so you

sink less than on a regular camber board. As

well as reducing the occurrence of cartwheels

due to a submarined nose, you also need less

weight on your back foot, which stops that leg

from burning so bad! TBT means that you can

keep riding your freestyle board when the snow

starts to fall. Or, switch to Freeride TBT and all

these benefits get turned up to 11.

When straight lining, the dynamic base shape

means the only edge section in contact with the

snow is where you want it - between your feet.

Because the edges at the widest points are out

of the snow, there are fewer edge catches and

fewer scorpions. Remember, tilting the board to

only three degrees will give you full edge contact

again so this is most useful when milking as

much speed as possible.

Because the Triple Base has lifted edges over

the whole region outside of the bindings, the

board will not dig in as much as the equivalent

traditional camber board. The reduced pressure

on the widest parts of the board results in fewer

vibrations and allows the edges to remain in

full contact with the snow. This makes slower

turns less twitchy and faster turns easier to

control. The icier the conditions, the more TBT

outperforms the equivalent traditional camber

board.

Without the aggressive side edge sections near

the nose and tail, butters are easier and more

fluid and fewer of them end up with you lying on

the floor.

As the powder gets tracked, the traverses get

longer. TBT helps you to reach the next stash

first because the widest section being raised out

of the snow makes staying on the traverse track

almost too easy. Way more relaxed than you are

used to!

Shorter total contact edges when going straight

means less drag and more speed. Less edge

catches means extra confidence and again,

more speed. In general, more speed. Now there

is no reason you shouldn’t win every race back to

the lodge.

A TBT board is more versatile than a traditional

camber or rocker board. Any TBT board is more

forgiving than its regular camber counterpart

when both are equally stiff. Also, a longer TBT

board can be used for freeriding, without losing

manoeuvrability, or a shorter TBT board can be

adopted for urban riding and jibbing, without

sacrificing control. TBT also allows you to ride a

wider board because our boards feel narrower

than traditional camber ones! TBT combines the

best of cambered and rocker boards, enabling

you to ride all terrains on just one stick!t

When straight lining, you need less effective

edge than in a turn. In fact, it’s better to have less!

The camber and side cut of a traditional board

leaves a tendency for the edges to dig down

into the snow at the board’s widest points. This

causes the rider to alternate between toe side

and heel side pressure to remain in control when

straight lining and this sacrifices speed. With a

TBT board all you need to do is point it and relax!

On Bataleon boards the edges are concaved

at the widest parts of the board, making

straight lining less twitchy so you rarely need to

compensate for edge catches.

Conventional snowboards lose speed in

transitions because the widest part of the

nose digs aggressively into the transition when

travelling from horizontal to vertical. In TBT

boards these parts are not even in contact with

the snow and this offers a smoother and faster

line from transition to vert. In the pipe, more

speed up the wall means more air out of the

coping and it is easier to go bigger!

Boards with traditional camber have more pop

than rockers because they can store more

elastic energy, but when you add TBT to the mix

things get explosive. Every board comes pre-

loaded with extra pop thanks to the concave

nose and tail profiles. When flexing the tail for

an ollie the forces are directed and focussed

towards the centre of the tail section where they

seriously pop you out. It’s like snapping an ollie

using a brand new skateboard on fresh concrete.

TBT ADVANTAGES

Made with a pressure bonded wood composite

that is very hard to break, yet very flexible.

Especially developed to reach a soft jib flex

without sacrificing strength.

Poplar core with hardwood reinforcements

along the insert rows. This increases the board’s

core strength and channels stored energy to

deliver more pop.

Poplar core with hardwood reinforcements

along the sidewalls. The inserts maximise

power delivery and precision during turns by

reinforcing stiffness along the edge so the

board twitches less.

Easy to repair and takes a beating! Low

maintenance and still slides well with irregular

waxing, not that we are condoning anything

other than a militant waxing regime (like

Rihanna’s).

Fast as fuck! Great wax absorption and as hard

as nails. These bases come with factory wax

already infused. Top up regularly to get the most

out of it.

Bi-ax laminates over and under the wood

core include fibreglass layers aligned in two

directions at 45 degrees to the edges. This

creates an easy and forgiving flex, which

allows you to really feel the terrain.

Tri-ax laminates over and under the wood

core include fibreglass layers aligned in three

directions (two at 45 degrees to the edges

and the extra one along the boards length).

This generally increases the stiffness and

stability of the board to deliver maximum

precision in your riding.

Carbon bi-ax increases responsiveness

and liveliness over regular bi-ax, while

simultaneously reducing the weight.

Hammer edges are thicker, tougher, stronger

and more durable than your average edges.

That’s good when they are up against metal rails

and concrete stairs, but it is also useful when the

powder is not quite as deep as it looks!

Thinner lightning edges enable you to carve with

more feeling and precision and they weigh less.

The 4x4/16 insert pack allows for a wide

range of stances and is great for rocking

them extra wide.

The 4x2/20 pattern allows you to attach your

bindings with scientific precision.

The 4x2/22 pattern offers maximum precision in

your binding position with 22 inserts for a large

total stance width range.

The 4x2/24 pack is the ultimate in flexibility.

Maximum precision, maximum width options,

maximum PARTY!

Everyone knows carbon is the hot shit right

now. Super strong, super light and super dope.

Carbon stringers under the wood cores in our

boards save weight and work in extension to

add strength, reinforce targeted sections and

focus pop depending on their alignment to the

fibreglass.

Basalt stringers are from volcanoes you

know? When put under the cores of our

snowboards they work in extension to

increase responsiveness. They also help us

to fine tune the lay ups for more pop without

torsional twitchiness.

Backseat inserts let you drop your stance all the

way back to let you keep shredding your trusty

stick on the deepest of deep days.

OUTLINE SHAPE VS CONTACT SHAPE

Outline shape refers to the outline of the board

(imagine drawing round the edge). This can be ei-

ther twin or directional, where directional means

that the nose is longer than the tail.

Contact shape is the shape of the board that is in

contact with the snow when a rider stands on it.

Therefore a board may have a directional outline

shape but a twin contact shape. In that case, the

nose is longer than the tail, but the portions of the

base in contact with the snow are the same in

both directions. A board like this would feel like a

freestyle board to ride, but handle uneven snow

better.

EDGE BEVEL

All our boards leave the factory with a 2-3

degree edge bevel. Together with the TBT shape

this means you get an ultra smooth ride straight

out of the plastic. No more de-tuning your

beautiful new board! As well as being a pain to

do, detuning reduces carving performance so

skipping it gives you a better ride.

MAINTENANCE

TBT boards can be maintained using Stone and

Belt grinding. Bataleon boards can go through

the machine as normal, but two out of the three

feeding wheels need to be removed to allow

the TBT base to pass through unhindered.

Experienced tune up shops already know about

this, but when you hand in your board for a tune

up make sure your shop knows what they are

doing. If necessary, point them in the direction of

the maintenance instruction videos, which can

be found on our website.

PARK 03

TBT snowboards are way more versatile than

rocker, traditional camber and flat boards. This

makes categorizing them far more difficult. Even

when we place a board in a certain category, it

is not limited to just that style of riding, that’s just

where it excels. The board will still handle well

in other categories and that’s why we give you

‘Terrain Scores’; so that you can see the range

of conditions in which the board will perform.

Below is an example for a board that is sick for

all round freestyle, with very good park abilities,

good for powder riding and is satisfactory on

jibs.

Our flex-o-meter uses a scale from 0 to 10,

where 0 is softer than the class geek and 10 is

effectively a barn door. In the flex rating you will

find three numbers. One for the nose flex, one

for the flex between the bindings and the last for

the tail flex. For example, 5-6-5 rating denotes

a board with medium flex that is slightly stiffer

between the bindings. This type of flex allows

boards to simultaneously press well and be

stable at speed. Happy days.

A soft board will feel more playful under your feet

and is generally better for riding rails and doing

butters whereas a stiffer board will be more

stable on landings and at high speeds. However,

please note that the lifted base sections on a

TBT board make a stiffer board feel more poppy

than a traditional board of comparable stiffness….

Only the very best is good enough. nothing less will do….

Bataleon has teamed up with all round BC legend and one of Whistler’s most suc-cessful sons - Kevin Sansalone to resurrect his brand Whitegold like the prover-bial phoenix. We wanted to see what would happen when we combined Kevin’s uncompromising approach to all mountain freestyle shredding with TBT SNOW-BOARDING. The results are explosive!

Whitegold is the name given to any alloy of gold that is white in hue. The other in-gredient is normally added for strength, durability or for the aesthetic, Similarly, the top end materials that we insist on are our gold and the construction methods we employ give that gold the same strength, durability and beauty as the brands namesake.

FLYER

The FLYER is meant for all kinds of snowboarding and riders of all ability levels. Whether you cruise park and piste with your buddies or take on big mountain riding and fearsome backcountry kickers, the FLYER can tackle it all.

Built around the VERYLIGHT CORE: A poplar wood core, which is enhanced with Paulowina wood. This makes the core super light but it remains strong enough to beat all of our break tests. We gave the core a mid flex and used core profiling to produce a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them. The core is wrapped in BI-AX laminate layers. These are aligned along the board’s length and between its edges above and below the core. They create an easy and forgiving flex that permits you to directly feel the snow under your feet. BI-AX lami-nate layers do not increase torsional stiffness so the FLYER has a mid flex along its length, whilst remaining torsionally soft. This allows it to be super responsive, charge at high speeds and give very stable landings, all without sacrificing its forgiving nature.

We also added some extra layups: V-shaped carbon stringers on the nose and tail connect their centres to the heel and toe edges under the bindings. These further increase torsional stiffness outside of the bindings as well as storing extra elastic energy and focusing it right on the very back centre of the board when ollieing. The further back the pivot point of the ollie, the more elastic energy can be loaded into the tail and the higher the resulting pop! We also included cork

stringers that run the full length of the board, between the inserts and the edges. These dampen vibrations and help to distribute power along the edge evenly. This is especially useful at high speeds and during icy traverses when cork reduces edge chatter and twitchiness. The result is a board with a mid flex, both torsionally and along its length that is as solid and stable as a much stiffer board.

FREESTYLE TBT is the most versatile of the TBT profiles. The centre base (non TBT) section features a traditional camber profile and has a medium width to balance edge-to-edge agility with flat base stability. The side base TBT uplift begins outside the bindings to give a longer contact length between your feet (without TBT). This improves stability when sliding on a flat base. FREESTYLE TBT is symmetrical about the nose and tail for equal performance when riding switch as forwards so it represents a ‘good for everything’ shape: Fast and forgiving edge-to-edge looseness as well as great overall stability. The FLYER features a true twin contact shape, FREESTYLE TBT and a centred stance. This makes it feel generally just like a twin. However, the nose of a FLYER is 1 cm longer than its tail, with the 1cm being added to the tip region that never touches the snow. The extra length includes transitioned TBT, which lifts the tip even further, making the extra length feel a whole lot longer and improving float. So when you find yourself crashing through a trashed powder field, a bombed out landing or cruddy spring snow, a FLYER won’t let you down.

The FLYER features LIGHTNING EDGES, which are our lighter and thinner edges and give your carves more feeling and precision. The inserts are centred and have a PARTY PATTERN: 24 holes give the largest range of possible stance widths and ultimate control over the exact binding positions. We also included BACKSEAT INSERTS so you can drop your bindings all the way back on those bottomless days. This puts weight automatically over your back foot, reducing back leg burn and increasing float. Finally, the FLYER has a sintered base for maximum hardness and higher top speeds.

The graphics are classic and simple. A matte and gloss black topsheet and a black base with transparent sections that allow you to see the core. The FLYER is intended for all round riders who always aim for powder when it is available, but who are happy to ride the rest of the hill when it is not. One board for riding everything: From park and groomers to backcountry kickers and open faces.

NORTH

The NORTH is a freeride cruiser that can step it up to handle even the gnarliest terrain. It also has an all new very special feature: The ‘split’ option!

The NORTH is constructed around the VERYLIGHT CORE: A poplar wood core that is enhanced with Paulowina wood to make it super light but allow it to remain tough as hell. It stood up to every single one of our break tests. We gave the core a soft-mid flex and used core profiling to produce a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them. The core is wrapped in TRI-AX laminate layers. Two layers are aligned at 45 degrees to the edges, while the third runs the length of the board from tip to tail. The addition of the third axis increases torsional stiffness and responsiveness as well as further enhancing high-speed stability.

We also added some extra layups. Two straight carbon stringers run the full length of the contact edges, joining the board’s widest points. These add nothing to a NORTH’s torsional stiffness but increase stiffness along the length to an overall mid flex. When combined with the TRI-AX lami-nates, the result is a board that has a mid flex both along its length and torsionally. The NORTH remains lighter than a normal board of the same spec because we can use a thinner core with-out sacrificing strength thanks to the carbon reinforcements. In addition, the carbon strips store up extra elastic energy, which delivers big pop and they contribute to an even power delivery along the full contact edge. We also added two cork stringers that run the full length of the board between the inserts and the edges. These dampen vibrations along the edges, especially useful at high speeds and during traverses, when the edges of a NORTH are far less likely to twitch or chatter.

Finally, the NORTH includes a 2 cm wide strip of bamboo down the very centre of the board. Bamboo is very strong, flexible, has good return and is a renewable material. The bamboo con-tributes towards making the NORTH super poppy, but it has another use! You can split your NORTH for touring! There’s nothing new in splitting a board, but when you split the bamboo strip in the centre of the board, the near perfect alignment of bamboo fibers along the length of the board ensures that the newly revealed sidewalls remain impervious to water without needing further treatment! This means you can split your board as soon as you get it or ride it as normal for sometime and then split it! This offers the best of both worlds for anyone interested in trying a split board without wanting to take the hit on a ready prepared one or wanting to D.I.Y. it!

The FREERIDE TBT used on the NORTH has a narrow centre base (non TBT) section, giving it a high total upturn at its widest points. The result is even better float in powder as well as more ag-ile carving. FREERIDE TBT is also directionally optimized, with the length of the TBT sections offset by the same amount as the stance. The nose side base sections also feature larger angles to fur-ther enhance the TBT by creating super floating powder wings! The centre flat section is set back in line with the stance and the tail TBT is shorter and shallower. The total width of the tail is also a couple of millimeters narrower than the nose. This produces a ‘gas pedal’ effect, where the board powers through and accelerates out of turns! While this is hardly noticeable for general riding (the NORTH is still excellent for riding switch), it becomes very noticeable when cranking a turn in powder, as the ‘gas pedal’ ensures a larger powder cloud that makes you look like a freeride superstar!

The NORTH features a 2 cm setback stance as standard that accommodates the longer nose TBT section, a precise insert pattern with 20 inserts for a good range and maximum precision on binding placement, together with optional backseat inserts so you can put your bindings all the way back on those bottomless days. This puts most weight automatically over your back foot, reducing back leg burn and increasing float. The NORTH is directional in both contact and outline shapes and optimized for backcountry riding.

The construction is completed by LIGHTNING EDGES; our lighter and thinner edges that enable you to carve with more feeling and better precision. We also included a sintered base, to give the highest possible top speeds. The design remains a simple combination of matte and gloss black on the top sheet, but now splitting the board in half lengthways along the bamboo strip. The base graphic is likewise split in half along the boards length with one half being black and the other being a sweet full colour, photo real image, featuring artwork by Taka Sudo. Very eye catching!

The NORTH is great for all types of riding: Just fine for cruising with friends, but take one to the backcountry and this board will really come into its own when things get deeper, steeper and more full on!

SHAKA

The SHAKA is intended to be a fun to ride powder board that gives an amazing ride in any back-country terrain, from the tightest trees to the steepest face and makes backcountry riding less effort and more enjoyable. It also has a super special feature to make it twice the board!

The SHAKA is constructed around the VERYLIGHT CORE: A poplar wood core enhanced with Pau-lowina wood strips. These make it super light but allow it to remain strong enough to beat all of our break tests. We gave the core a mid flex and used core profiling to produce a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them. The core is wrapped in TRI-AX laminate layers. Two layers are aligned at 45 degrees to the edges, while the third runs the length of the board from tip to tail. The addition of the third axis increases torsional stiffness and responsive-ness as well as further enhancing high-speed stability. When combined with its unique shape, this construction is just perfect for shredding in any powdery conditions!

The SHAKA employs POW TBT. This is TBT maxed out for full on powder surfing! The narrowest centre base (non TBT) section gives the widest TBT powder wings. Add in extreme side base an-gles on the nose section and the total TBT uplift is huge, making the nose practically impossible to submarine! The nose and tail side base TBTs are set back in line with the stance, making the nose side base longer and the tail side base shorter. The tail features a sweet cut back shape that gives maximum rooster tails! The stubby tail and a set back stance move the centre flat section to back-wards, putting more weight over your back foot. Because of the shorter side base length on the tail, its TBT is shorter, but we also made the uplift angle shallower. The total width of a SHAKA’s tail is a couple of millimeters narrower than its nose. These design features all work together to

produce a ‘gas pedal’ effect: The SHAKA powers through and accelerates out of turns, throwing up a shitload of snow!

We also added some extra layups. Two V-shapes of carbon strips connect the toe and heel edg-es at the nose and tail with the centre of the board under the bindings. On the tail this magnifies the ‘gas pedal’ effect as well as storing extra elastic energy to enhance pop and reinforcing the tail in general. At the front they distribute any forces more evenly across the nose and stop it from becoming twitchy at high speeds. We also included two cork stringers that run the full length of the board between the inserts and the edges. These dampen vibrations along the edges, which is especially useful at high speeds and during icy traverses.

Finally, the SHAKA includes a 2 cm wide strip of bamboo down the very centre of the board. Bam-boo is very strong, flexible, has good return and is a renewable material. The bamboo makes the SHAKA more poppy than a ‘methed out’ panda, but it has another use! You can now split your board! There’s nothing new in splitting a board, but when you split the bamboo strip in the cen-tre of a SHAKA, the near perfect alignment of the bamboo fibers along the length of the board ensures that the newly revealed sidewalls remain impervious to water without needing further treatment! This makes splitting your board easier than ever and means you can do it as soon as you get it or ride it normally for sometime and split it later! This offers the best of both worlds for anyone interested in trying a split board without wanting to take the hit on a ready prepared one or wanting to D.I.Y. it!

A 2 cm setback stance and crazy TBT shape and angles allow you to ride the SHAKA much shorter and softer than you would ride any other powder board. The ‘spoon’ nose floats like a much lon-ger and stiffer board through even the deepest powder, making it great for riding big mountain lines. The short, cut back tail can turn tightly like a much shorter board, which is great through tight trees. These effects work together to ensure that every turn will put the most snow possible into the air to leave you feeling like the man! Powder riding will be even more fun! The construction is completed with LIGHTNING EDGES; our lighter and thinner edges that allow you to carve with more feeling and precision, together with an extruded base for easy repairs. The inserts have a PARTY PATTERN of 24 holes, giving the most stance options possible: Max-imum precision of placement over the widest possible range of stance widths. We also added optional backseat inserts so you can put your bindings all the way back on those bottomless days. This puts most of your weight automatically over your back foot, reducing back leg burn and further increasing float.

The graphics are minimal, featuring a burst of colour and a transparent section on the top sheet and a black base. The SHAKA lets you ride bottomless powder all day with minimal back leg burn and turns on a sixpence during tree runs. It floats so well that you will be able to cover more of the flat on the ride out than any of your friends, leaving less distance to wade! Enjoy your best ever powder day on a SHAKA.

With the tragic events of the past few years, helmeted snowboarders are fast becoming ubiquitous. Even low-profile helmets add a few centimeters onto the size of your head and most hoods are simply not designed to accommodate this. The result is a head that looks like a bubble from behind and a tight-fitting collar that gets all twisted up. We widened the hood so that it comfortably covers a helmet, but we also widened the collar, giving the hood the ability to turn with your head and helmet without garroting you. Now you can finally ride in a helmet without looking like an idiot! Of course the hood is fully adjustable and so can be easily fitted to an un-helmeted head using the drawstrings.

HELMET HOODINI™ BAT PITS™ FREE ZIPS™

We paid attention to our tailoring and seams in order to achieve cuts that are optimized for shredding. Of course, looking good is also important, but what’s the good of looking smart if your jacket doesn’t work for snowboarding in? Snowboarding involves lots of moving and twisting. Badly cut jackets get left behind, becoming tangled and riding up. Bataleon jackets are cut so that they allow you to raise your arm all the way above your head, without the hem rising above your waist. Now you can tweak that method all the way without having to sort your jacket out on the ride out. Don’t get robbed of your afterbang with Bataleon outerwear.

Every rider knows how much it sucks when your vent zips get stuck open on a cold windy chairlift. So we fixed that. Our zips work every time, don’t get stuck and can even be operated one handed. Get us!

Hidden in the cargo pockets you will find an elastic cord to control the PANT ELEVATOR. Pull this to lift the back of you pants up. Now you dont destroy your pants when walking.

MIDAS PANT

Our MIDAS PANT is more of a ‘classic’ snowboard pant. The fit is slightly more relaxed and the construction slightly more tech than the LIMA PANT. The more relaxed style fits easily over your boot, without being too baggy. However, they can be made super baggy for the OGs out there by sizing in XL. The cut accommodates generous pockets on the legs together with four large pockets in the usual places: two zipped on the front and two with popper closures on the back. With embossed leather branding, an inside lace belt and chunky belt loops on the waistline, targeted insulation and double layer reinforcement in critical areas. The MIDAS PANT looks great, comes with plenty of pocket space and can offer you comfort even in tough conditions.

DORA JACKET

The look of the DORA JACKET varies with size. The jacket is cut to a length that covers the waistline of your pants even when the jacket is close fitting. This allows you to go a size down from that which you normally wear for a close fit that still works. Go a size up to get the ‘tall look’ of a longer jacket that is still more fitted than your average baggy jacket. Or stick to your normal size to achieve a fit so nice you would wear the jacket to town

The DORA features all the stuff you would expect from a snowboard jacket: big pockets, adjustable waist and cuffs, a goggle pocket, snow proof cuff Velcro, a media pocket with headphone port and guidance, waterproof zips and a lift pass pocket.
