In the central area of the Atlantic coast of the province of Cadiz, on a big marine estuary, there is placed the Nature reserve of the Bay of Cadiz.
It comprises a surface of 10.522 there is, including 5 Andalusian municipalities, with an approximate whole of 400.000 inhabitants (including the city of Cadiz). The high population density of these areas, it has determined considerable modifications of the natural way.
His geographical location, between the National park of Doñana and the Strait of Gibraltar, they do of the Bay of Cadiz an enclave of special relevancy in the migratory routes of multitude of birds between the European continent and the African one.
The ecosystems coexistence heterógeneos, like cliffs, beaches, dunes, lagoons, salt marshes and estuaries, invite to the contemplation both of his scenery and of his rich associate fauna, fundamentally of birds.
