New number and naming system for all our Boyum Releases

As of 2020, we are changing the way we number our versions of all our software releases throughout our product range. Going forward, all product releases will be named based on the year and month of the release (YY.MM format).

The added benefit will be that you easily, just by looking at the first two components of the full version number, will know when it was released and which version you are using exactly.

New support for lightweight installation. The installer is included in the standard installation of Beas.

To install Beas as lightweight addon, please login to "Manage extensions for lightweight deployment" portal of SAP and follow the steps described by SAP to install and activate the addon.

Production FunctionsA parameter to define the maximum Lines of positions displayed in Work order structure.Now it is possible to define the maximum number of positions displayed per work order in the Work Orders window. You can also right-click and expand all the records at any moment.

Work order If you activate the print flag on work order level, the system activates this on all sub positions too.If you disable the flag, the system does not disable this on work order position level.

In work order Position: If all Positions are defined as printed, the system changes the printed flag on work order level to printed too.If the work order header is defined as printed and you disable the Printed flag on position level, the system disables the printed flag on header level, as well.

Print Work order in structure view it is possible to print a work order. In Report settings you can define the printed flag to be activated after printing..

Production FunctionsTerminal Logon window – correctionsIn Personnel settings you can define "Allow logon to op.sequ. of all pools"

In terminal - Logon window the system ignored this setting. It always displayed all routing positions despite it was not possible start with a wrong routing position.

In Station settings you can define the resource which you can see in Logon window / Pool window.

The system does this with "and", if first resource is defined.if ... and (resource = station.resource1 or resource=station.resource2) and so onBefore: This was not working correctly.New: Now this is working without errors.

Sales FunctionsItem Version is now supported in Blanket Agreements :New field I-Version is Blanket agreement (Purchase or sales)If you insert an item, the system automatically inserts the I-Version from the related Blanket Agreement.If the I-Version from the linked blanket agreement is not the same as in sales order / purchase order, the system displays an error message.

In MRP - Tab "Order" you can choose the Blanket Agreement (Contract)You see all entries with the same I-Version (or I-Version is empty in the current entry or blanket agreement) and today is between the Start/End Date of the blanket agreement and the blanket agreement is not canceled/removed but approved.

MRP FunctionsValidations of items displayed when purchase and production are disabled :

When an item is defined as not production and not purchase item at the same time, there remains no reason to display it in the MRP Order recommendation.

Now we exclude these sort of items from the calculation.

Inventory TransactionsValidation of "Inventory management by warehouse" Field on DB managed by branches

The field "Inventory management by warehouse" inside of the window "Item master data > Inventory data" must be read-only if the selected database is managed by branches.

Before: this field was always open and you could deactivate it which led to further errors.

Now: the field becomes read-only if you are working with branches.

Human ResourceValidation of the Deletion of personnel in Beas and in SAP employee

When a Beas Personnel is created, the system creates the SAP Employee Entry

1. Deleting the Beas Personnel entryPast: Personnel entry deleted, but the linked SAP Employee entry is not.New: The system is asking for deleting the SAP Entry. If yes, the system deletes the entry if possible.

2. Delete Employee on SAP side.Past: The system deleted only SAP Employee, not Beas Personnel entry. This is not changed but if you open the Beas personnel entry, you can see the old link, which is not working and it's not possible to repair it.New:a) The system deletes the link automatically.b) New function: Reset SAP LinkWith this you can change/delete the SAP Link manually.

Cancel Creation of Personnel

PastIf you open the window to create a new personnel entry but don't save the changes and exit by pressing cancel, you are asked to create the personnel in SAP but there is no personnel to create because you're cancelling the changes.

New:After this fix, no question is prompted in this case.

Past:In the Configuration wizard you can disable the numeric counting system.

If deactivated, you can insert the Personnel ID manually.But this was limited to only 8 chars. The field itself allows 20 chars.

New:Personnel Field allows 20 chars

If you change personnel information, the system must change this in the linked employee Data, as well.

Past:When you opened any record (that did not have a fixed period rule), the period rule displayed was the one linked to the shift currently, even if you had other period rule linked to this shift in the past.

New:We display the period rule used when the record was created (The same that you can see in the browser)

APS User EventsNew Users functions available in APS.src:

If you start the calculation in the APS widow, now there are new user functions that are called while calculation processes are running in the background and you can use them to add to your own scripts there.

Open function via debug WindowThis is a new functionality in the debug window.Double-click on the userfunction line in the debugger.Now the system opens the aps.src window and inserts the function or will jump to the function, if it exists

Web appsAnsyncronus working For a customer who has many transactions or a large database, the transactions can take a lot of time. While the transaction is running, the HTML Service is not available. This creates many problems if you have many devices per service or many transactions per minute. If you work with more web services, you can reduce the problem with time delay for HTML Server, but this can produce deadlocks on the Database, if many services are trying to create SAP Transactions.

The idea of the Asynchronous process is to have all SAP Transactions in ONE separate Service - serial and not parallel. This reduces overloading and deadlocks on the server side.The HTML Server does not wait for the transaction process and can work on other HTML requests. Other clients are not blocked. Additionally, we reduce deadlocks on the database, because we don't create transactions in parallel.

Some apps have been modified to support this new functionality, and you can activate this behavior from Beas Manage Server > Extended > Asynchrone Processing

APP Setup, setting the checkbox "Time to Wait (sec.)", you can control if you prefer to wait for the result a maximum number of seconds before to be able to start a new operation

How does it work?(If you do it using the "AppSetup" we will set all needed code for you and deal with all the logic on the supported apps)- Use common Service = checked -> the common service is used and we keep waiting for the result every 5 seconds- Time to wait (sec.) = (Use common service must be checked otherwise this parameter is ignored) After waiting for this number of seconds, if the result is not available yet, we allow to the user to click in "continue" and continue working in other document without waiting for the response

System InitializationSupport to SAP 9.3 font size Field:Field font size and Font - change font to any

Before: Beas did not read this value.

Now: Beas reads this font value and applies this to its own windows.

Data Integration HubUTF-8 File format not working correct, Unicode issue

The Data integration Hub support UTF8 and ANSI EncodingBefore: In UTF-8 format this was not working with all characters. UTF-8 determination was not working correctly, for example Î© -signNew: Now the system reads UTF-8 files correctly.

Item Master DataIt was not possible to open the item master data, if you used item code with unicode chars.Solved. Workaround: Ask support for the correction (only .psr file)

Beas Service LayerNew aggregate Functions

Aggregate functionsBeas Service Layer supports the following aggregate functions:$sum, $avg, $count, $min and $max

Example:Read Stock information of Bin location 100

WareHouseStock("01")/OnHand/$sum?$filter=BinCode eq "100"

This returns the sum of all stocks from this bincode. SAP/WMS and Beas Bin Management is supported.

Beas Service LayerNew field "ForRoutingId" was added > Work orders and WebApp "WO Start

You can provide the routing with the format "BELNR_ID/BELPOS_ID/POS_ID" to filter the resources based in this routing and its parallel resources

For each personnel you can define the resources he can use, and if he can switch to another resource or not.

When you define "Resource selectable" to "Alternative" your only chance is to use the resource described in the selected routing position or the alternative one (if there are any available)(you can read more about this in the help), but at the same time they will be filtered by the resource list.

Before: We ignored this combination in the web terminal application WO Start.After: This is working as described in the help.

Beas Service LayerLogin improvements

Improved the handling of sessions for BSL / Web

Now:

▪ The session has the same format for all apps/services, and we don't send extra information to the browser in the cookie (just thesession ID)

▪ Solved strange behavior when you were logging in Terminal, and do login/logoff (even in other browsers) and your current session is disconnected.

▪ Added new error handling to avoid to do login/logout using the BSL if the session belongs to Terminal 2.0(for example. before you can open terminal 2.0 and call to BSL to do a BSL login/logout and you will be logged from terminal, but this is not allowed since you were connected to terminal 2.0 and not BSL)

▪ Fixed session is not regenerated in web apps (you got always the same session ID if your browser sent it then we reactivated it andthat is a security break)

▪ Terminal 1 & Terminal 2 share the same authentication. This means that if you login to Terminal 1/2 you can use Terminal 2/1 without logging in again (and if you logout from any of them, you will be logged out from both)(this allows to use both apps at same time using the folders /terminal10 & /terminal20 with a single login)

▪ Fixed internal cookies in with uppercase letters didn't work

If you execute any BSL POST command using the paremeter "async=true" , the request will be sent to the "beas_common_input"
