The video starts with a close up of Beyonce lip syncing the song with a plain background this emphasises the precision and how the camera wishes to focus on her as the singer. The use of the white background contrasts her black and simple clothing.

With the use of a long shot this allows us to see the whole of Beyonce moving to the rhythm of the song and also with the use of the effect the shots slide in and out to the beat of the same clip. This editing is really simple and easy yet effective. The use of the background and her black clothing contrast. The outfit has now changed to show its realistic and believable.

The split screen shows two different angles one long shot and one close up to show her face lip syncing in both. I like this effect and how simple it looks. The colours are kept consistent throughout so far.

This mid shot is done by using green screen as I did in my video, therefore they can change the colours on the computer and the editing changes colour to the beat of the music. The use of the mid shot allows us to see her face lip syncing and her clothes changing colour.

The magazine style editing portrays a 60’s theme including three different shots, extreme close up of her eyes, long shot dancing and mid shot showing her dancing to the beat. All are different outfits and there is now vibrant bright pastel colours. The clothing illustrates the 60’s theme.

In this scene it shows an old dance studio with a band of people playing the drums with her dancing to the music along with others. The long shot sets the scene and shows everyone in the shot. The dark coloured set with lighting contrasts with the brightly coloured dancers.

This establishing shot sets the scene of a run down back street dance studio which is the first time in the video you see the setting outside. The place itself looks run down instead of somewhere glamorous and expensive.

In this clip it shows two different shots of her silhouette using different colours from using the green screen which I have used. This is cleverly edited on the computer to change to the beat. Her mouth moves as she sings along lip syncing although you are unable to see her face.

As the music video ends another costume change has taken place where she is more glamorous and girly compared with the dull, simple outfit she was dancing in. The background again is white although the editing around the clips shows a certain kind of film strip style to show her fame. The long shot in the middle emphasises her dancing however the close ups around the edge concentrate on her lip syncing.
