    nahi nahi rakshati dukrin karanae |

    bhavati bhavaarnava taranae noukaa |

    Woman, Wealth and Wine - beget surrender

    Fellowship with the devout – secures felicity

    Certain – never this fails you even in adversity

    pasyanna picha napasyati moodhoe

    hyudara nimittam bahukrita vaeshah |

    Never be deceived by the outward show

    With a tonsured head, umpteen to follow

    Of saffron robes and matted hair, know

    Perchance, a pretence for wealth to swallow

    angam galhitam phalitam mundam

    dasana viheenam jaatam tundam |

    vriddhoeyaati grihiitwaa damdam

    tadapina muncha tyaasaapindam |

    Dilapidated and ugly becomes every body

    Edentulous mouth laughs at, as teeth decay

    Ever vernal are wants, even when hairs grey

    Perpetual are our desires, come what may

    agrae vahnihi prishtae bhaanuhu

    raatrou chubuka samarpita jaanuhu |

    karatala bhikshah tarutala vaasah

    tadapi na muncha tyaasaapaasah |

    To defy the winter, owns not even rags - except

    the searing Sun on the back and Fire in front,

    body coiled with the head on the knees bent.

    Vernal are one’s wants, even deprived to that extent

    kurutae gangaa saagara gamanam

    vrata paripaalana mathavaa daanam

    jnaana viheenah sarwamataena

    muktim na bhajati janma sataena |

    Holy dips in the Ganges beget no purity

    Prayers and austerity grant one no certainty

    Emancipation not in sight even for the piety

    Sans realization of the rationale of equality

    suramandira tarumoolanivaasah

    sayyaabhootala majinam vaasah |

    sarwa parigraha bhoogatyaagah

    kasya sukham na karoeti viraagah |

    A cat’s nap under the shade of a temple tree

    Or in deep slumber on a ground of feet three

    Ever cares not for any comfort whatsoever

    Rejoices a mendicant, detached is he forever

    yogaratovaa bhooga ratovaa

    samga ratovaa samga viheenah |

    yasya brahmani ramatae chittam

    nandati nandati nandatyaevah |

    Let one be a Spartan or an everyday man

    A passionate one or an ascetic holy man

    Little it matters, for the one who is humane

    Sure, that is the one – the most blissful man

    bhagavadgeetaa kinci dadheetaa

    gangaa jala lava kanikaa peetaa |

    sakri dapi yaena muraari samarcha

    kriyatae tasya yamaena na charcha ||

    Apply the precepts of the Gita ever in life

    Employ the mind in earnest, without strife

    Deploy thoughts of purity for the best in life

    Destiny indeed is the death’s cutting knife

    punarapi jananam punarapi maranam

    punarapi jananee jatarae sayanam |

    iha samsaarae bahudustaarae

    kripayaa paarae paahi muraarae |

    Born we are and torn we are, over again

    Darkness it is, in the womb to the tomb

    The journey of life, is indeed often so dumb

    Verily, equality of all, is the answer a plumb.

    rathyakarpata virachita kanthah

    punyaa punya vivarjita panthah |

    yogee yoga niyojita chittah

    ramatae baalonmattava daeva |

    Keeps away from anxiety as if in doldrums

    Faces he alike, no matter a sinner or a paragon

    Meanders is the man sans all the thralldoms

    Appears he is, as if innocent or inebriated !

    kastvam koham kuta aayaatah

    kaamae jananee ko mae taatah |

    iti paribhaavita nija samsaarah

    sarwam twaktvaa swapna vikaarah |

    Who you are? And who am I? No answer!

    From whence we came, to where we head

    Mom is who? Same with papa! No answer!

    Like thing in a dream, fades away everything!

    twayi mayi chaanyatraiko vishnuhu

    vyartham kupyasi mayya sahishnuhu |

    bhava samachittah sarwatra twam

    vaanchasya chiraad yati vishnutwam |

    Honestly tell me - how we all can differ ?

    With the concept of inequality, we all suffer

    Shun hatred and inculcate parity in you ever

    Verily, this is the best path to eternal treasure

    kaamam krodham lobham moham

    tyaktvaa tmaanam pasyati soham |

    Atmajnana viheenaa moodhAh

    tae pachyantae naraka nigaadhaah |

    Clinging, craving, rage and hatred

    avarice, vengeance, lust and greed

    Aren’t these the deadly inner seeds

    To decimate amply the human breed

    gaeyam geetaa naamasahasram

    dhyaeyam Sreepati roopa majasram |

    naeyam sajjana sangati manisam

    daeyam deenajanaayatu vittam |

    Apply the proclamations of the scriptures

    The unity in diversity puts us all in rapture

    Remember to help ever and hurt never

    Sure, this is the itinerant to strive forever

    moodhah kaschana vaiyaakarano

    dukrin karanae dhyayana dhureenah |

    Sreemat Sankara bhagavat sishyaih

    modita aaseet chodita karanaih |

    For the mundane, are these messages

    Those engrossed in worldly entangles

    Verily are these, the precepts for salvation

    Jagad Guru’s enunciation for emancipation
