• A push is a force that is applied on an object that causes it to move in a direction away from our body. (eg we push a trolley, push a door open)

• A pull is a force that is applied towards our body. (eg pull a piece of tissue paper from a box, drag the school bag on the floor)

Effects of a Force

• We cannot see a force but we can certainly see the effects of a force when it interacts with an object.

• We know if a force is strong or weak by observing what happens to the object during the interaction.

• Look at the example of forces in nature. We can know how strong/harmful the forces are by looking at the destruction caused.
