Biography Book Report Requirements

Please refer to this requirement sheet and check off the items as you complete them. Part One: Book Report 1. __________ Book Report Cover Create an interesting book cover for your Biography Book Report.

1. Include your name, the author, and the title of the book in an imaginative way.

2. Include a creative illustration that shows something important about your subject.

3. Use colored pencils, crayons, or markers for the cover. 2. __________ Book Report Contents Your report should follow the format below: First paragraph should include:

1. The title, author, and a brief description of why the subject of the book is important.

The middle paragraphs should include (at least 3 middle paragraphs):

1. More details about why this person is famous. 2. Characteristics that helped make this person important. 3. Three things that made this person important. 4. Facts about how this person contributed to his or her field or

specialty. 5. The part of this person’s life you admire the most, and why you think

so. The concluding paragraph should include:

1. A wrap-up of the body of the report. Include whether or not you think this book gives an honest account of your subject. Explain.

3. __________ Oral Presentation Dress up as the subject of your book report and present this information to the class in a 3-5 minutes presentation to the class.

1. Speak in the first person as if you were the character. 2. Have at least one prop that is related to your character. 3. Present the important highlights of your character’s life, why this

person was important, how this person has contributed to his/her specialty, and why you admire this person.

4. Be Prepared: Do not just read your report. Practice in advance, prepare notecards, and speak directly to the audience.

The Biography Book Report will be due on Friday, February 8, 2013.
