WIRES SHALL BE TESTED AT A FREQUENCY OF 10 PERCENT. POWER

ACTUATED FASTENERS IN CONCRETE SHALL BE FIELD TESTED FOR 200

LBS. IN TENSION. ALL OTHER POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS IN CONCRETE

SHALL BE TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CBC SECTION 1913A.7.

5.02 POST-INSTALLED ANCHORS IN CONCRETE USED TO ATTACH BRACING

WIRES SHALL BE TESTED AT A FREQUENCY OF 50 PERCENT IN ACCORDANCE

WITH CBC SECTION 1913A.7.

6. LIGHT FIXTURES:

6.1 ALL LIGHT FIXTURES SHALL BE POSITIVELY ATTACHED TO THE CEILING

SUSPENSION SYSTEMS BY MECHANICAL MEANS TO RESIST A HORIZONTAL

FORCE EQUAL TO THE WEIGHT OF THE FIXTURE. A MINIMUM OF TWO

DEVICE SHALL COMPLETELY SURROUND THE SUPPORTING CEILING RUNNER AND

BE MADE OF STEEL WITH A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF #14 GAGE. ROTATIONAL

SPRING CATCHES DO NOT COMPLY. A #12 GAGE SLACK SAFETY WIRE SHALL BE

CONNECTED FROM EACH CLAMPING DEVICE TO THE STRUCTURE ABOVE.

PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORTS WHEN LIGHT FIXTURES ARE EIGHT (8) FEET

OR LONGER OR EXCEED 56 LB. MAXIMUM SPACING BETWEEN SUPPORTS SHALL

NOT EXCEED EIGHT (8) FEET.

6.3 LIGHT FIXTURES WEIGHING LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO 10 LB. SHALL HAVE A

MINIMUM OF ONE (1) #12 GAGE SLACK SAFETY WIRE CONNECTED FROM THE

FIXTURE HOUSING TO THE STRUCTURE ABOVE.

6.4 LIGHT FIXTURES WEIGHING GREATER THAN 10 LB. BUT LESS THAN OR EQUAL

TO 56 LBS. MAY BE SUPPORTED DIRECTLY ON THE CEILING RUNNERS, BUT THEY

SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO (2) #12 GAGE SLACK SAFETY WIRES

CONNECTED FROM THE FIXTURE HOUSING AT DIAGONAL CORNERS TO THE

STRUCTURE ABOVE.

EXCEPTION: ALL LIGHT FIXTURES GREATER THAN TWO BY FOUR FEET

WEIGHING LESS THAN 56 LBS. SHALL HAVE A #12 GAGE SLACK SAFETY

WIRE AT EACH CORNER.

6.5 ALL LIGHT FIXTURES WEIGHING GREATER THAN 56 LB. SHALL BE

INDEPENDENTLY SUPPORTED BY NOT LESS THAN FOUR (4) TAUT #12

GAGE HANGER WIRES (ONE AT EACH CORNER) ATTACHED FROM THE

8. SUBMITTALS WILL BE REVIEWED BY THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, IF AT ALL, ONLY PURSUANT TO THE INDUSTRY- STANDARD PROTOCOL SET FORTH IN A1A DOCUMENT A201, AND IN NO EVENT WILL THE SUBMITTAL REVIEW PROCESS RELIEVE OR LESSEN THE SUBMITTING CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR AN INAPPROPRIATE SUBMITTAL.

9. IN NO EVENT WILL ANY SITE VISITS BY THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEER CONCERN CONSTRUCTION MEANS AND METHODS OR CONSTRUCTION SAFETY, AND ALL SUCH MATTERS SHALL REMAIN THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.

10. COPIES OF THE PLANS PROVIDED IN ANY ELECTRONIC FORM ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAME PROVISIONS AS THE OTHER INSTRUMENTS OF SERVICE PREPARED BY OR ON BEHALF OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEER FOR THE PROJECT, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE ENGINEER'S COMMON LAW, STATUTORY OR OTHER RESERVED RIGHTS, INCLUDING COPYRIGHTS. A RECIPIENT IS GRANTED AT MOST A TRANSFERABLE NONEXCLUSIVE LICENSE TO REUSE THE PLANS SOLELY FOR PROJECT PURPOSES; AND NO RECIPIENT IS AUTHORIZED TO USE OR TO ALLOW THE USE OF ALL OR ANY PORTION OF THESE PLANS FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE, AND ANY USE FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE WOULD CONSTITUTE ACTIONABLE PLAGIARISM. 13. PROTECT ALL WORK, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FROM DAMAGE FROM ANY CAUSE WHATEVER AND PROVIDE ADEQUATE AND PROPER STORAGE FACILITIES DURING THE PROGRESS OF THE WORK. PROVIDE FOR THE SAFETY AND GOOD CONDITION OF ALL THE WORK UNTIL FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK BY THE OWNER AND REPLACE ALL DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE WORK, MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT BEFORE REQUESTING FINAL ACCEPTANCE.

14. THE DRAWINGS INDICATE IN A DIAGRAMMATIC MANNER, THE DESIRED LOCATIONS OF ARRANGEMENT OF THE COMPONENTS OF ELECTRICAL WORK. DETERMINE EXACT CONDUIT ROUTING, CONDUIT BENDS, AUXILIARY JUNCTION BOXES, SUPPORTS, AND UNDEFINED CONSTRUCTION DETAILS AS A JOB CONDITION TO BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE CODE REQUIREMENTS. PROPER JUDGEMENT MUST BE EXERCISED IN EXECUTING THE WORK SO AS TO SECURE THE BEST POSSIBLE INSTALLATION IN THE AVAILABLE SPACE, AND TO OVERCOME LOCAL DIFFICULTIES DUE TO SPACE LIMITATIONS OR INTERFERENCE OF CONDITIONS ENCOUNTERED.

15. IN THE EVENT CHANGES IN THE INDICATED LOCATIONS OR ARRANGEMENTS ARE NECESSARY, DUE TO DEVELOPED CONDITIONS IN THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION OR REARRANGEMENT OF EQUIPMENT, SUCH CHANGES SHALL BE MADE WITHOUT COST PROVIDING THE CHANGE IS ORDERED BEFORE THE CONDUIT RUNS, ETC., AND WORK DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO SAME IS INSTALLED AND NO EXTRA MATERIALS ARE REQUIRED.

16. THE DRAWINGS INDICATE APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS OF EXISTING CONDUITS. THE EXACT ROUTING SHALL BE VERIFIED IN FIELD AND LENGTH OF CONDUCTORS SHALL BE ADJUSTED TO THE LENGTH REQUIRED.

17. PERFORM CUTTING AND PATCHING ON THE CONSTRUCTION WORK WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE PROPER INSTALLATION OF THE ELECTRICAL WORK. PATCHING SHALL BE OF THE SAME MATERIAL, WORKMANSHIP AND FINISH AS SPECIFIED AND ACCURATELY MATCH SURROUNDING WORK TO SATISFACTION OF THE ARCHITECT.

18. PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT WITH ENCLOSURES LISTED OR LABELED FOR USE AND LOCATION WHERE SUCH EQUIPMENT IS INSTALLED.

19. PROVIDE UL LISTED FIRE STOP FOR ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH FIRE RATED FLOORS, WALLS AND CEILINGS TO MAINTAIN ALL FIRE RATINGS. THE FIRE STOP MATERIALS SHALL BE RE-ENTERABLE AND REUSABLE.

20. PROVIDE COORDINATED SHOP DRAWINGS. INDICATING DIMENSIONED LOCATIONS AND SIZES OF ALL CORE DRILLS FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. ALL CORE DRILL LOCATIONS SHALL BE VERIFIED AND APPROVED WITH OWNERS REPRESENTATIVE, STRUCTURAL AND ARCHITECT PRIOR TO CORE DRILL. UTILIZE X-RAY EQUIPMENT TO LOCATE AND VERIFY EXISTING STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS WITHIN SLAB.

21. WHERE EXISTING CIRCUITS ARE SHOWN ON PLANS, THE INFORMATION WAS OBTAINED FROM RECORD DRAWINGS. e. EXCEPT WHERE EXPOSED CONDUITS ARE SHOWN ON PLANS, INSTALL ALL NEWCONDUITS CONCEALED IN WALLS, FURRED CEILING, OR UNDER FLOOR SPACE.

c. REMOVE ALL EXISTING EXPOSED CONDUIT, SURFACE RACEWAYS AND CONDUITCONCEALED IN EXISTING CONSTRUCTION THAT IS TO BE REMOVED. RECONNECTOUTLETS AND LIGHTING FIXTURES WHICH ARE NOW FED THROUGH THE OUTLETS TO BEREMOVED.

d. REMOVE ALL EXPOSED CONDUIT, WIRE, OUTLETS, DISCONNECT SWITCHES ANDELECTRICAL MOUNTING HARDWARE FOR MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT BEING REMOVED.PROVIDE WEATHERPROOF CAPS ON ALL CONDUIT PENETRATING ROOF AND ABANDONCONDUIT. REPAIR ROOFING DAMAGED BY REMOVAL OF EXISTING ELECTRICAL.

e. EXCEPT WHERE EXPOSED CONDUITS ARE SHOWN ON PLANS, INSTALL ALL NEWCONDUITS CONCEALED IN WALLS, FURRED CEILING, OR UNDER FLOOR SPACE.

f. ALL REMOVED MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT WHICH IN THE OPINION OF THE OWNER ARESALVAGEABLE, SHALL REMAIN THE PROPERTY OF THE OWNER. DELIVER SUCHSALVAGED MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT ON PREMISES AS DIRECTED, AND NEATLY PILEOR STORE THEM AND PROTECT FROM DAMAGE.

g. DO NOT REUSE SALVAGED MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT, UNLESS SPECIFICALLYINDICATED ON PLANS OR SPECIFIED. REMOVE FROM PREMISES AND DISPOSE OF ALLMATERIALS CONSIDERED BY THE OWNER TO BE SCRAP.

CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE ALL WORK NECESSARY TO KEEP EXISTING ELECTRICAL,SIGNAL AND FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS IN ALL AREAS ADJACENT TO DEMOLITIONRECONSTRUCTION AREAS IN SERVICE CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL WORK IN THAT AREA ISCOMPLETE. THIS WORK SHALL INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, INSTALLATION OFTEMPORARY ELECTRICAL PANELS OR TEMPORARY RELOCATIONS OF EXISTINGELECTRICAL PANELS, TEMPORARY EXTENSION AND RECONNECTION FEEDERS ANDBRANCH CIRCUITS, TEMPORARY RELOCATION OF SIGNAL AND FIRE ALARM TERMINALCABINETS AND EQUIPMENT AND EXTENSION AND RECONNECTION OF SIGNAL CABLES, ETC.AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN ALL ELECTRICAL, SIGNAL AND FIRE ALARM FUNCTIONS. PRIORTO DISCONNECTING ANY ELECTRICAL, SIGNAL AND FIRE ALARM EQUIPMENT OR DEVICESLOCATED IN AREAS REQUIRED TO BE IN SERVICE, ALL EQUIPMENT, CONDUIT, WIRE,CABLING ETC. (TEMPORARY OR OTHERWISE) SHALL BE IN PLACE AND READY AS MUCH ASPRACTICABLE FOR IMMEDIATE RECONNECTION SO AS TO MINIMIZE DOWNTIME.CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A LETTER TO OWNER TWO (2) WEEKS PRIOR TO ANYPLANNED DISCONNECTION OF ELECTRICAL, SIGNAL AND FIRE ALARM FUNCTIONSINDICATING DESIRED DOWNTIME SCHEDULE AND SHALL NOT PROCEED WITH THIS WORKUNTIL SCHEDULE IS APPROVED.

3. ELECTRICAL DEMOLITION DRAWINGS DO NOT SHOW ALL ELECTRICAL WORK THAT IS TO BEREMOVED. REFER TO ALL DEMOLITION DRAWINGS OF OTHER TRADES/DISCIPLINES FORWORK THAT AFFECTS ELECTRICAL DEMOLITION WORK.

4. DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SUCH AS LAMPS SHALL BE DISPOSED OF INACCORDANCE WITH ALL STATE AND FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS.

SIGNAL PERFORMANCE NOTES1. THE DISTRICT WILL BE HANDLING THE WAPs & TELEPHONES INCLUDING REMOVAL, PACKING, STORAGE,

REINSTALLATION & PROGRAMMING TO THESE DEVICES.

2. VERIFY EXACT LOCATION OF EQUIPMENT/TELECOMMUNICATION OUTLETS WITH ARCHITECT/SCHOOL DISTRICTREPRESENTATIVE PRIOR TO ROUGH-IN.

4. EXISTING TELEPHONE BOXES, CONDUIT PATHWAY AND CABLING SHALL BE PROTECTED IN PLACE FORTELEPHONE TO BE REINSTALLED BY THE DISTRICT IN SAME LOCATION AFTER CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETEAS REQUIRED.
