From Our Parochial Administrator...

As God's tremendous love and blessings fill each one's lives, I weave carefully the moments of my life with gratitude. Each day I give thanks to God for all His blessings and His Providence. It has been a great joy to work with so many volunteers who form our children in the Catholic Faith. This is my joy to share with you how many children have come through our doors. These precious children come to classes with great joy and enthusiasm to know Jesus, Our Good Shepherd. We truly witness a transformation in them as we teach them on their journey of faith. I also express my gratitude to the parents/guardians who showed their support and love to their children in this process. There were over 530 students in our Religious Education (RE) Program this past school year in grades Pre-K through 8. At the Easter Vigil, 29 students were baptized, confirmed and received First Holy Communion; over 200 students made their First Confession on April 23rd and 203 students received First Communion and Confirmation last May 7 and May 14; and 7 students will be receiving the same Sacraments in Mexico in the near future. I cannot do this blessed work without our faithful and dedicated volunteers. You may be surprised to hear how many are coming week after week to serve our parish R.E. program. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to over 80 wonderful volunteers and over 20 volunteers for Vacation Bible School (* indicate multifold volunteer work). If you recognize some names listed below, please say “THANK YOU” for their great work with our children. Go RE Team! Rest over the summer and we will see you in the Fall!

This Monday, June 6, the Vacation Bible School begins. There are 58 students registered and over 25 volunteers are ready to assist. Good luck, VBS Team! Let’s have great fun while leading our children to

grow in love and knowledge of God! Our appreciation and prayers for Sr. Mary Beata and her team always!

Perpetual Adoration

TAKE A MOMENT TO DISCERN AND PRAY

In the morning and afternoon hours especially on Sunday after masses, adorers often come in briefly but are not committed to spending the whole hour.

There may be someone present the entire hour a dedicated adorer is there, but often there are short periods of time they will be the only one there. This is why we need a committed adorer there to spend

the whole hour.

At this time we especially need someone to accept being an adorer for the Sunday 3:00 am hour.

Contact Richard Jacobson at (602) 300-8562 for

more information.

Christ the King Catholic School concluded another successful year with a multitude of awards and honors for the students and teachers. During the last few weeks, there have been honor roll certificates, subject awards, and presentation of scholarship awards from the Givas Foundation and Catholic Community Foundation. Students have been recognized with the Elizabeth Ann Seton Awards, a presentation by the American Legion and presentations by the Knights of

Columbus. Catholic Daughters of America presented two of our 8th graders with local awards and several with essay winners at the state level. Our student’s poems were published in a poetry book and the yearbook was dedicated to Morie Pilon for his generous volunteer effort for the last eight year. Eight families were presented with plaques for their support and commitment to the school as their last child graduated.

It is only with the support and prayer of parents, past parents, alumni, parishioners, and the greater community that all these things, plus so much more, happen every day at Christ the King Catholic School. Thank you for helping us to actively participate in this life of this world while seeking the things from God.

VOCATION CHALICE The purpose of the Chalice Program is to encourage families to pray and promote vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. The consecrated Chalice is a tangible reminder of this special intention for the Church. A vocation is a call from the Holy Spirit, a gift from God that is nurtured in prayer. We hope that those who bring the cup home will continue to pray daily for vocations. The Vocation Chalice is available to be checked out for up to two weeks. Sign up forms for the Vocation Chalice can be filled out in the Parish Office or in the Welcome Center.

Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of creation. O my soul praise Him for He is your health and salvation.

Come all who hear brothers and sisters draw near. Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord above all things so mightily reigning. Keeping us safe at his side and so gently sustaining.

Have you not seen? All you have needed has been met by his gracious ordaining.

Hallelujah, hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Praise to the Lord who shall prosper our work and defend us. Surely His goodness and mercy shall daily attend us.

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do. Who with His love will befriend us.

Praise to the Lord O let all that is in us adore Him. All that has life and breath come now with praises before Him.

Let the “Amen!” sound from His people again. Gladly with praise we adore Him.

—Galatians 1:11-14A, 15AC, 16A, 17, 19

Cf. Ps 27 (26): 1-2 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; whom should I dread?

When those who do evil draw near, they stumble and fall.

Darlene Zschech ©1993 Integrity/Hosanna Music

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord there is none like You. All of my days I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength, Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, Let us sing: Power and majesty, praise to the King. Mountains bow down and the seas will roar at the sound of Your name. I sing for joy at the work of Your hands; Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand. Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

Jn 6: 57 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him, says the Lord.

Michael John Poirer © 1992 Peartree

I will be, I will be, I will be strength for the journey.

I will be, I will be, I will be strength for the journey.

There is a road meant for you to travel. Narrow and steep is the Shepherd’s way.

And as you say “yes,” letting me guide you, I will be strength for the journey.

There is a cross meant for you to carry, There is a cross meant for you alone.

And as you bow down in humble surrender, I will be strength for the journey.

And how many times have you doubted my word?

How many times must I call your name? And as you say, “yes,” letting Me love you,

I will be strength for the journey.

David Haas © 1985, 1986 OCP

Like a shepherd I will feed you; I will gather you with care. I will lead you and hold you

close to my heart.

We will run and not grow weary, for our God will be our strength,

and we will fly like the eagle, we will rise again.

I am strength to the weary; to the weak I am new life.

Though the young may grow weary, I will be their hope.

Fear not, I am with you; I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you;

uphold you with my hand.

I love You, Lord. I love You, Lord. I love You, Lord, You are my strength.

My heart it longs to be with You, and nothing else will ever do,

So at Your throne is where I’ll be, where Your flesh and blood consume me,

And I am one with You.

My stronghold, my refuge, Your righteousness will see me through,

From dark of night and thorn of sin, I will stay close to You my friend,

And I am one with You.

Abre mis ojos a tu

Amen.
