A TRIP TO AN ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRY

Introduction

You are going to take a trip to an English-speaking country. You are 3 classmates travelling together for 8 days (that means 7 nights for accommodation). You have a budget of 2000 Euros per person.  What would you like to see and do in this country? What part of the country would you prefer to see?

Before you can go, you will have to make some preparations and do some research so as to make the best use of your time and money and create a memorable trip.

You will need a detailed list to act as an itinerary including dates of travel, day tours, places of interest, shopping malls, great buys, cultural exhibits, etc. You must demonstrate your knowledge of this country. So here's what you have to do:

 ▪ Become an expert on this country

▪ Book flights to a specific destination

 ▪ Book accommodation for yourselves

 ▪ Make a list of places of interest for you to visit.

The teachers will provide you with a list of links where you may find all the information you will need to make your project.

Tasks

1. You will submit a project paper at the end of the Crèdit de Síntesi. The project paper has to be at least 20-25 pages long. Each student is required to contribute about 7 pages.  Individual contributions must be identified in the table of contents.

2. Oral presentation: you’ll have to expose your project and you can display this in a Power Point presentation.

 The process

1. The first thing you will need to do is familiarise yourselves with this country. 2. Choose an itinerary from a map of the country.3. The next step would be to book and document flight details.4. Choose suitable accommodation. Keep in mind you have a budget.5. Choose some tours and activities that you would be interested in.  6. Gather the information and pictures found on the internet and print them out. You have to

use your own words for the descriptions. So, do not copy every word from the internet!7. Prepare a power point that will help you with the exposition of your work. Don’t make more

than 15 slides and remember that you only have 10 minutes per group to expose your project.

Have fun and learn a lot!
