  • Why Toothpaste, Mouthwash And Flossing Isnt Enough...(Hint: They do not clean the whole mouth)

As Dr Jung has stated in the video this simple technique was developed by Dr Joseph Phillips (1922-2003) a forward-thinking dentist.

Originally trained as a dentist, Dr Phillips completed a postgraduate degree in Periodontics in 1967. Periodontics is an area of speciality wheredentists study the supporting structure of teeth, diseases and conditions that affect them. He later went on to teach the subject at the University OfCalifornia, Los Angeles.

    Heres the interesting bit...

In his extensive research into the structure of teeth and gums Dr Phillips established beyond doubt that toothpastes, mouthwash and flossing was notenough. He found that gum disease, tooth decay, tooth loss, cavities, bad breath and much more could indeed be solved and eliminated using aspecial technique.

The statisticians tell us that 45% of people in the Western world use mouthwash daily. This is a needless exercise and an unnecessary expense.Mouthwash kills both good and bad bacteria in the mouth and only temporarily covers bad breath; it doesnt eliminate the plaque the bacteria feedon (the process that creates bad breath). Cleaning the tongue is the best way to eliminate bad breath.

The most effective mouthwash for you is your own salivaBrushing your teeth, which many people think is enough to keep their mouth clean, merely polishes the teeth - it does not clean the tongue andgums.

Finally flossing, which many people either ignore or carry out too harshly, can damage the gum tissue. Whilst people should clean between theirteeth, and flossing is better than not doing anything at all, they should do so using a technique that does not cause any damage to the structure thatsupports the teeth or harm the gums.

Knowing all of this Dr Phillips set out to develop a technique that he truly believed could make the world a healthier place; a technique known as thePhillips Blotting Technique.

Heres How Dr Phillips Fascinating Development Works...The Phillips Blotting Technique differs from traditional oral hygiene methods as it can, if carried out properly, reduce and even eliminate the need forbrushing with toothpaste, using mouthwash and flossing.

The most effective way to remove plaque from teeth is by using a special brush that Dr Phillips developed called a Blotting Brush. Although theBlotting Brush looks much like a traditional toothbrush, the specially-textured bristles draw plaque and debris from the gingival crevice using acapillary action. The Phillips Blotting Technique itself is based on capillary action; that is the principle at work when a sponge soaks up liquid orwhen paint is drawn up into the bristles of a brush. The capillary action lifts and holds plaque in the brush so that it can be removed. All brushescome with a maintainer cover to protect and reform the bristles.

Dr. Phillips patients described them as the bristles with the split ends. It is recommended to change the brush every 2-3 weeks (depending on usage). A Blotting Brush is held differently to a normal toothbrush - like apencil, with the elbow close to the body, and instead of brushing side-to-side or up-and-down, use a tapping or blotting motion to reach between theteeth and gums, drawing out the damaging, trapped plaque which causes so many problems.

Many people brush their teeth and think that is enough to keep their mouth clean. But teeth only make up 10% of the mouth. This is like having ashower but only washing one arm. Even if you clean your teeth twice a day, every day, 90% of your mouth remains dirty. This leaves dead skin cellson the inside of your mouth which can cause gum disease among other nasty problems.

Dr Phillips simple, yet hugely effective solution, allows you to brush your teeth, tongue and gums using the Blotting Technique. This combinationmakes for a healthy, fresh mouth (and lower dental bills!). For those with calculus we strongly recommend having a professional clean from a dentalhygienist first.

Now you may think to yourself Cant I do all of that with a normal toothbrush? Unfortunately not. As I explained earlier the bristles on the BlottingBrush are unique in their design and texture. Using a toothbrush for brushing and blotting will not do the job.

Are You Starting To See Why The Dental Industry Wants To KeepThis Information Quiet?

Have you ever stopped to think how dentists make their money? Or how companies who manufacture mouthwash or toothpaste make theirs?

    Probably not.

So lets think about this for a moment. Dentists focus on curing problems that have already developed such as gum disease, tooth decay and so on.The Blotting Brush is designed to eliminate many of these problems and prevent them from happening in the first place.

Mouthwash is not needed when you blot.

  • Flossing is not needed when you blot

High priced toothpastes are not needed when you blot

Can you now see why the dental industry tried to keep Dr Phillips quiet? Are you starting to understand the amount of money the dental industrywould lose if people didnt need to pay for high priced and potentially unnecessary treatments?

Its as simple as this: Dr Phillips technique works. Period. Yet over the years it has only been supported by enlightened dentists because if morepeople knew about it, there would be less profit for the dental industry.

Many people will scoff at that. They will think that all dentists only care about their patients health and providing a service. But the proof that moneyis paramount is in the fact that mercury fillings are still offered despite significant evidence of the damage that mercury fillings cause. The reason theyare still offered? Its a cheap resource. This, however is a subject for another time.

The point is, whilst Dr Phillips made a massive impact on lives whilst he was still alive, he never quite made the impact he had hoped for on a largescale. The impact his lifes work deserved.

    That was, until now.

You see I have personally used the Blotting Brush and technique for many years. I introduced the technique and brushes to Dr Jung who, as atrained and experienced holistic dentist, knows the problems people have with their teeth. His personal tests proved, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that this simple brush could help people around the world transform their dental health and cut their dental bills!

We decided to partner together and focus our efforts on getting the Blotting Brush and technique out there for the world to see. We have made it ourgoal to take Dr Phillips legacy to the next level and make a difference as best as we can.

And thats why we are doing something incredibly special...

Heres How You Can Try This Out For Free. You Only Pay If YouGet The Results We Promise...

  • These brushes contain special bristles that are not found in normal

toothbrushes. The bristles are especially textured to enhance their

capillary action to suck up dental plaque that is associated with gum

disease. The brushes also have rounded and polished bristle tips so

that they are extra gentle on your gums. The brushes come in assorted

    colors.

They can also be used for regular tooth brushing or as a travel tooth

brush because they have a container to protect the brush bristles. The

brushes last as long as a normal tooth brush. But you will find that over

time the bristles get dirty with food debris and dead skin cells. The

optimal replacement time for brushes is every 2-4 weeks because

afterwards the brushes are too dirty. You can try boiling the brushes or

washing them with soap to extend the life of the brushes.

Why Two Brush Sizes? The large brushes are for tapping along the gums towards the outside

    of your mouth.

The small brushes are to tap behind the teeth and clean the gums

along the teeth inside your mouth. The small brushes are also good for

children and people with smaller mouths.

A dental brush for eliminating plaque and food particles that

accumulate between gum and tooth. Excellent tool designed to improve

teeth and gums plus eliminate bacterial build up.

This is a 2-6 month supply, the brushes are to be replaced every 2-4

weeks. You will notice after a while the bristles become softer and build

up with debris so you will want to replace them. Dr. Phillips

recommended to clean your gums with gum cleaning brushes

(functions nearly the same as blotting brushes) 2-3 days per day for

    best results.

Note: These brushes can also be used as your regular tooth brush.

Just make sure not to use toothpaste with them, or they may get

    More information

Achieving and maintaining a healthy mouth is within the reach of everyone. Withproper care through the Phillips Blotting Technique, you can expect to keep yourteeth and gums decay and disease free for a lifetime. Cavities, uncomfortable dentalcleanings, oral surgery and tooth loss can be avoided by using this simple, revolutionary technique. Despite all the specialty toothpastes and mouthwashesavailable today, people still have gum disease, many without ever knowing it. Forover 50 years, the Phillips Blotting Technique has been effectively used to eliminatethe causes of gum disease. Those who have been fortunate enough to use thisunique dental hygiene program have enjoyed a lifetime of fresh breath, clean teethand healthy gums. Even patients with severe gum disease have used thisprogramme as an alternative to costly, painful surgery.

Gum Disease and CavitiesThe first signs of gum disease are easy to diagnose and often originate, contrary topopular belief, in the teenage years. No matter how old you are, if your gums bleedwhen you brush your teeth, or you notice a white or yellow build up where your teethmeet your gums, you will have gum disease. In advanced stages, the bleeding maystop but the teeth begin to move apart and the gums recede, eventually to the pointwhere they can no longer support the teeth. The cause of gum disease is plaquethat forms along the gumline. When plaque collects there, it causes gingivitis, anirritation of the gums which causes them to swell and bleed. Healthy gums form anelastic seal around each tooth to keep plaque and bacteria away from the sensitiveroot. Plaque toxins and enzymes attack healthy gums, eventually creating crevices

  • as the gums loosen and pull away from the tooth. The bacteria harboured in plaque turn sugars into acid. Normally this acid is notstrong enough to dissolve the enamel on teeth, but under plaque, these acidsbecome strong enough to dissolve teeth. Removing the plaque with the PhillipsBlotting Technique will eliminate the crevices where acid-forming bacteria hide. In aclean mouth, free of plaque, even sugary foods cannot damage the teeth. Anexception to this is soda pops, with the diet sodas being the worst because of theirhigh acid content. Normal toothbrushing, unfortunately, pushes plaque deeper in thecrevices around the teeth. The Phillips Blotting Technique, utilizing a speciallydesigned brush, reaches into those crevices and Blots the plaque out. Once theseplaque deposits are removed through Blotting, the gums are on their way back tobeing healthy and protecting teeth. Making the Phillips Blotting Technique a part ofyour daily oral hygiene will ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy for alifetime.

The Phillips Blotting Technique is a method of mouth care that actually removesplaque. Plaque is the sticky, white substance that forms on teeth, between them andin the area between the teeth and gums, called the sulcus. Quite simply, plaque isthe cause of dental disease. Whereas brushing moves this plaque around the mouthand under the gums, the Phillips Blotting Technique is the only proven dentalhygiene method that actually removes it from the mouth and this is the key to totaloral health for a lifetime.

'Blotting' is a tapping motion rather than a brushing technique. The Phillips Blotting Technique itself is based on capillary action; that is the principle at work when asponge soaks up liquid or when paint is drawn up into the bristles of a brush. Capillary action lifts andholds plaque in the brush so that it can be removed.

Of course, no matter how well you have cleaned the teeth, your mouth still remains90% dirty, as teeth occupy on 10% of the surface of your mouth, so it is just asimportant to clean the gums, cheeks, roof, floor and tongue as well. More about the DVDThis film was nearly lost in the archives after Dr Phillips died in 2003. First timeusers of the Blotting Brushes should purchase a copy of the DVD so theycomprehensively understand the Blotting Technique. It is also worth watching everysix months or so as a reminder.

Note: The DVD is a copy of Dr Phillips original film that became a video and is nowa DVD. It was originally produced during the 1970s so the hairstyles and clothingmay appear somewhat dated. The technique itself is vitally important and this isconveyed very well. Narration is by Dr Phillips himself.Article By Dr. J.E. Phillips- How Peridontal (Gum) Disease Progresses:

If your dentist says you have to brush more because you have plaque on yourteeth and the next time you see him he says you have to brush still more and flossmore because your gums are bleeding and he suggests that you see the hygienistmore often for cleaning your teeth, you will soon be a candidate for deep curettageand periodontal (gum) surgery.Frequent brushing and flossing, cleaning by the hygienist and gum surgery never cure periodontal

  • disease. As time goes on this leads to more curettage and surgery, and eventually, extraction of theteeth.

The truth of the matter is that brushing and flossing causes periodontal disease

Cleaning under the gums daily will keep the disease from getting started and, in most cases, will healthe gums. By using a special bristled brush with much the same texture as a paint brush, it can drawplaque from underneath the gum and heal gum disease in over 98% of the cases. This will also keepthe gum disease from reoccurring.

I always told my patients if you want to see what brushing does, just lay a rug on a dirty kitchen floorand brush or sweep around and onto the rug and when you lift the rug up, you will see that most ofthe dirt is packed at the edge of the rug. The same thing happens when your brush you teeth. Thesulcus (the groove between the gum and the tooth) is always the dirtiest after brushing. You shouldnot brush your teeth unless you can clean the sulcus out afterwards. By the way, brushing is only forcosmetics. As dentistry has insisted that people brush more, periodontal disease has attacked muchyounger people with gingivitis (bleeding gums). This is the precursor to periodontal disease(pyorrhea).

If you use the Blotting Brush (recommended for this cleaning technique) to clean under the gum plusthe entire mouth, you will have a healthy mouth and a pleasant breath.

Article By Dr. J.E. PhillipsOral Wellness Made Easy: by Dr J L Phillips As a practicing periodontist, I have seen many people go through periodontalsurgery only to have a repeat surgery and lose their teeth anyway. Then they stillspend great sums of money to get implants only to finally succumb to dentures, andin many cases, are not able to eat nutritious food due to the inability to chew.

This method of mouth care can insure you good oral health and, in most cases, canreverse periodontally affected teeth back to good health even though you have beentold by a periodontist that you are beyond any hope of healing. I have known manyof these people who had two or more surgeries and were told there was absolutelyno way to save these teeth, and 20 years later are still enjoying a good dentition.Progressive physicians keep telling you, you must take charge of your health. Well, taking care ofyour oral health is very important toward maintaining your general health.

There is no question that periodontal disease can have a bearing on your general health. Forexample, if you have gum problems, you will produce a bacteremia (bacteria in the blood stream)every time you chew. This can increase the chances for heart disease, focal infections, arthritis andmany other diseases. Your chewing ability or disability can cause many intestinal problems. In fact, there is good reason to believe that if your mouth is healthy and functions well, your completeimmune system is strengthened. Ive had many people tell me that once they learned proper mouthcare, many of these so called problems decreased or were eliminated.

In my many years of periodontal practice, I have had patients from many states and many countriescome to me because they were told nobody could do anything for them. I always say I cant heal yourperiodontal problems, but I can teach you how and help you resolve your problems.

  • Brushing And Flossing Could Bring AboutGum DiseasePosted on January 20, 2012 by John SchmidtLets face it: there isnt a significant amount of reliable informationavailable out there that offers people like us a choice about how tocare for their teeth and gums. Theres brushing and flossing and amind boggling number of different varieties of toothbrushes, toothpastesand flosses with which to use, which brings us back to the basicbrushing and flossing. Keeping in mind that 90% of all Americans areadversely affected by some type of gum disease (yes, kids as well) andthe majority of people over sixty have few if any teeth at all. Just askyourself: is brushing and flossing as good as they tell us?

I used to think that if I cleaned my teeth two or more times each dayenergetically, flossed infrequently and crunched 1 or 2 apples each andevery week my dental health would be fine. So why was I subject to thedentists drill so frequently over the years?

A decade ago when I first I talked on the phone with Dr.. JosephPhillips DDS, a light bulb flashed in my head. After all I had spent the1st half of my life doing the wrong thing. Over a number ofconversations between Doctor Phillips in Wisconsin and myself insunny California, he helped me understand the Blotting Brushes andexplained the mechanics of his patented Blotting Technique.

    The Reality of Dentistry

Dr. Joseph Phillips took time to explain the reality of dentistry to me.

He said if your dentist tells you that you have got to brush morebecause you have plaque on your teeth and the next time you see himhe says you have to brush still more and floss more because yourgums are bleeding and implies that you see the hygiene specialistmore frequently for cleaning your teeth, you will soon be in the queuefor deep curettage (removal of dead inner tissue from a gum pocket)and periodontal (gum) surgery.

Frequent brushing and flossing, cleaning by the hygienist and gumsurgery never cures periodontal disease. As time goes on, this leadsdirectly to more curettage and surgery, and eventually, extraction of theteeth.

The reality is that brushing and flossing causes periodontal disease.Cleaning under the gums every day will prevent gum disease fromgetting started and, in most cases, will heal the gums. By employing aspecial-bristled brush with much the same texture as a paint brush the Blotting Brush you can draw plaque from the gum crevice andheal gum disease in over 99% of cases. This will also stop gumconditions from recurring or receding gums from developing.

Dr Phillips always told his clients that if they wanted to see whatbrushing achieves, just lay a rug on a filthy kitchen floor and brush orsweep around and onto the rug. Then lift the rug up and see that mostof the dirt is packed at the sides of the rug. A similar thing happenswhen people brush their teeth. The Sulcus (the groove between thegum and the tooth) is always the dirtiest after brushing. You shouldntclean your teeth unless you can clean the sulcus out immediatelyafterwards. Dr Phillips informed me that brushing is just for cosmetics. As dentistry has insisted people brush more, periodontal disease hasattacked much younger people. This is the precursor to severeperiodontal disease.

  • If you use the Blotting Brush to clean under the gum and the entiremouth, youll have a healthy mouth and a pleasant breath. Dr Phillips

After his death in 2003, Dr. Phillips work was nearly completely lost ina house fire. Although holistic dentists the length and breadth of theUSA and Canada begged his family to continue his significant legacyand carry on making the Blotting Brushes available, the dynamicdriving force had gone. Fortunately his daughter let us continue thisgroundbreaking work on his behalf.

The concept has taken years to arrive in the relatively staid world of the dental profession."
