Hi my name is Boaz Cohen, I am currently a sophomore attending Harbor High School. This means I will be graduating in the year 2018.. One of my goals for the future is to maintain a GPA of 4.0.

In my high school experience I have taken and enjoyed courses such as “ROP Graphic Design 1” and an art class “Drawing and Painting 1”. One of the reasons I liked these classes were because they allowed to express my artistic creativity in ways that classes before them had not yet permitted. I will most likely want to pursue a job that doesn’t involve straightforward tasks, but rather one that challenges me to think in ways that other than the jobs that include an objective, and one way to complete it.

The “ROP Graphic Design” class I mentioned in the previous paragraph has given me extensive experience in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and has made me occasionally dabble in Adobe InDesign. This class has also improved my time management skills due to the demanding, but fair, deadlines for certain projects to be completed and turned in.

In the next few pages of my portfolio you will see my resume and also some that I’ve completed thus far. Hopefully you like what you will see.

The name of the project is Identity Design and the requirements were to complete your own logo complete with a business card. This card has to have my information and my final logo. During this project I learned how to layout a business card in a way that wasn’t just lines of text. Along the way, I became much better at transforming objects to add symmetry to my designs. The most challenging part of the project was picking which logo I wanted to use. I enjoyed having to be creative in the way I made 10 logos.

The name of the project is Magazine Cover Design and the requirements were that you had to copy every aspect of a magazine cover in your own file. During this assignment I learned how to layout text and match the fonts displayed in an example file in Adobe Illustrator. Finding the correct matching fonts. I enjoyed striving to get my project just like the end product.

The name of the project was the “Skull Type Project” and the requirements were to put text into a skull by hand let-tering. In my case I learned how to fit type into text boxes and make cool designs with them. Throughout the project I noticed that I was able to put the text into the box much faster than previously. Finding a creative ay to layout the text boxes. I enjoyed being able to shape the lettering in any way I wanted.

The name of the project was “Academic Awards Nights Inv.” and the requirements were to include al o the text that the school told me to include about the night. I learned how to layout text better more in creative ways. During this project I saw that I didn’t always have to layout text in a horizontal and vertical way. I enjoyed making the random design around the edge of the project.

The name of the project was the VG front and back cover and the requirements were to make a sequel or make up a VG with a front and back cover. I learned how to use different blend-ing modes in different ways. Throughout this project I noticed how important it was repeat certain themes throughout the project.
