Welcometo NewBrislington Bridge, standing over the Avon east of bristol city centre.This 1930's bowstringconcrete arch offers an Alluring view over Netham dam.Untill 1800 bristol docks were tidal. The dam serves to keep the water level steady up stream, allowing boats to harbour safely. The sights from this structure are often neglected by busy commuters so werecommend walking to this location an hour or two before dusk for a view that's unrivalled inthe surroundingarea.

Melancholy valley. AnotherMonotonous day

of tyre and tar, the dismal hum of engines.

A worn crossing, Its spanless than clean. Concrete

pillars, bad tempered. Railingsline the edges and earthy greens

adorn the metalwork. Chains swing from the concrete canopy and extend

toward a flowing river. Wide open spacemanifests As if a million miles from

melancholy monotony. A solemnheron awaits breakfast. The

river meets a change in its character as commerce

begins to weave back into the space and

the brook disappeares

into theyonder
