Q.1 Have you ever received the basic training on safe handling and applying pesticide? If yes did that training also include training on how to use protective equipment and clothing? Answer: - Yes, we received this training from the owner of the farm. They said that he told them how to use pesticide and what the quantity of pesticide should be taken while applying the pesticide on crops. He told about a fixed quantity of pesticide is mixed with fixed volume of water then it apply in field. He told about volume of water is different for different pesticide. He gave example to us that 5 ML of pesticide A is required 20 litre of water and in other hand pesticide 5ML of pesticide B is required 10 litre of water. He also told about that we know this thing from shopkeeper when we buy pesticide from shopkeeper. We ask to shopkeeper how to apply this pesticide and handle it. It shows that these farmers are more aware about different techniques of handling and applying the Pesticide.

Q.2 when purchasing pesticide, are you usually supplied with information on the pesticide, such as pamphlets or instructions, describing safety issues or procedures?Answer: - They said that voluntarily they dont supply the pamphlets or instructions describing safety issues but we demand for pamphlets then they provide us pamphlets and instructions. Without demanding they dont provide us information about pesticide when we ask to them that what precaution will be taken place while using these pesticide then the shopkeeper tells about precautions.

Q.3 On the scale of 1-5, how much risk do you think you are exposed to while using pesticide?Answer: - They said that there is the probability of 5 units that you are exposed to pesticide while you are not using mask and appropriate clothes when applying the pesticide in the field. If you are fully covered with clothes and using mask the chances of exposing is very less although there is some chance to exposing from pesticide even consider the security aspects but it decrease the risk factor which is hundred percent while you are not taken care of security aspects. We are preferred appropriate suit and mask while using the pesticide, using the efficient equipment is necessary for security aspects because if your equipment is not worked well there will have a chances to exposing by it.

Q.4 Do you currently practice any integrated pest management (IPM) techniques to reduce the need of using pesticide? If yes, which methods do you use?Answer: - They said that Yes we use IPM techniques, we use bio pesticides like- Dry dung of cow and ash, leaves of neem tree it help as a pesticide it is not create problem for us. There is no risk to use bio pesticides. These IPM techniques are economically good for us. In old times our forefathers had used bio pesticides to protect crops from pests. We use naturally obtained pesticides like- leaves of neem tree etc. it is not harmful for us for health reason.

Q.5 Have you ever had any of the following symptoms after applying pesticides during the last year? A) Eye irritation B) Fever C) Headache D) Convulsion E) Dizziness F) Shortness of breath G) Vomiting H) Skin irritation I) Any OtherAnswer: - They said that Yes sometime we feel eye irritation and Headache and shortness of breath while using the pesticide. Usually tear drops come from eye when using the pesticide and reddening of eye is happened, but it never created worst problem for us. Generally it creates eye problems.

Q.6 Have you ever heard witnessed any of the pesticide related accidents in your local area? Answer: - He said that Yes I witnessed of an accident in which a farmer exposed by pesticide there a farmer was spraying the pesticide and had not taken care. The chemical went into his breath and he became unconscious, when he was taking to the hospital. On the way of hospital his breath was stopped, he passed away.

Answer: - No, we never received such type of training. They said that nobody told about safe handling of pesticide and they did not aware about safe handling techniques. They used pesticide without proper quantity. Nobody told about how much amount of water mixed pesticide. His master does not tell about this. Even master does not know about safety handling and applying pesticide techniques.

Q.2 when purchasing pesticide, are you usually supplied with information on the pesticide, such as pamphlets or instructions, describing safety issues or procedures?Answer: - They said that pesticide seller does not provide information about safety issues and dont give pamphlets and instruction. In spite of they said that they did not try to ask shopkeeper about pamphlets and instructions.

Q.3 On the scale of 1-5, how much risk do you think you are exposed to while using pesticide?Answer: - They said that there is hundred percent of chance of exposed from pesticide while using pesticide. I give five units on scale that you are exposed to while using pesticide. In spite of they said they dont know which type of kit is used while applying the pesticide.

Usually headache and dizziness is occurred when we use it.

Q.6 Have you ever heard witnessed any of the pesticide related accidents in your local area? Answer: - They said that three years before here was an industrial accident was happened. Leakage of chemical in pesticide factory had killed 50 peoples and many people are affected from this accident, they became patients of respiratory diseases. This accident create big trouble in economic as well as in social way.
