ACCESS

Transportation to Hungexpo

Public transport:

Bus 10 is passing on a round way from Őrs Vezér Tere metro station around HUNGEXPO and basically

stops at each gate. The schedule of this bus can be ordered for higher frequency in some assigned

periods. According to the requirements the bus can pass in 5-10 minutes frequency for one hour in the

morning and in the afternoon, and during the rest of the day we can keep the 20 min. frequency.

Basically the bus stops at each gate, but it is possible to order it only for stopping at certain gates.

Several signage options are also available, varying from bus-stop and route signage at the final station

to gate signage and window stickers at the main entrance. An exact offer with the costs of this service

can be made according to the requirements in an extra agreement. This transportation solution is

operated by the Centre for Budapest Transport.

Furthermore the venue is also accessible from the city center in 12 minutes by tram no.37 from the

end station Blaha Lujza square.

About the metro lines please see the details on pages 33-34 below.

Shuttle service:

In case of shuttle service, buses can enter at the agreed gate and drop the passengers off and then

leave at no extra cost. We are happy to recommend companies for organising dedicated shuttle

service. We can also assist in organising the usage permission of a certain public bus stop at an agreed

metro station. In this case that shuttle will only run between HUNGEXPO and the metro station.

Different signage options are available for signing the shuttle stop at the metro station and at

HUNGEXPO. Bus type: 46-52 seats, Setra, Neoplan, Bova, Mercedes

Taxi service:

Hungexpo has a dedicated taxi company, which is the City taxi at the moment and this is the only taxi

company which can enter Hungexpo. That company creates a taxi rank at an agreed place (preferably

near to the registration area). A taxi desk is placed with a host/hostess in the registration area, where

delegates can easily order taxis. In case of getting a list of hotels where delegates are mainly staying,

a pre-agreed price in EUR and HUF can be set and promoted well in advance. The taxi company can

also provide cards with the set fares shown on it and if congress delegates are using this card

anywhere in the city they are allowed to travel on a discounted rate.

Setting up of the above detailed taxi service during the congress has no extra cost.

the different districts of Budapest and are about 14-25 EUR (incl. VAT).

By AirportShuttle-Minibus:

The service provides the transfer with a boarding capacity of 8 to 10, and 30 to 50 passengers. The AirportShuttle-

TRANSPORT WITHIN THE CITY

1. Traffic situation within the city

Budapest is divided by the river Danube into two parts, Buda and Pest side. The two parts are connected by the

bridges of Budapest. For road traffic there are 7 bridges in the city (Árpád bridge, Margit bridge, Széchenyi Chain

Bridge, Erzsébet bridge, Szabadság bridge, Petőfi bridge, Rákóczi bridge).

On the Buda side there is the Széll Kálmán square which is one of the capital's and Buda side's busiest traffic

junction. The M2 metro line runs from here to the Örs Vezér square which is one of the biggest traffic junction of

the Pest side, the other one is Deák square.

On the Pest side the road network is radial. On the Grand Boulevard there is operating the tram 4 and the tram 6

which runs every five minutes during the day and at night the tram 6 runs every 15 minutes.

Hungary has 5 highways and 4 main roads, 8 start from Budapest (except main road No. 8). For using the highways

(M1, M3, M5, M6 and M7) it is necessary to buy a sticker which is available at border crossing points and at petrol

stations. Around Budapest there is the MO ring-road. Its primary task is bidding the Budapest-centered radial

highways and main roads network around the capital, and keeping the transit traffic at a distance from the populated

areas.
