The 90-foot cylindrical tower was constructed of limestone. Along with the new stone lighthouse, a more modern method of keeping the light was adapted. This lighthouse was the first in Canada to use coal oil.

Rectangular structure with a verandah set between 2 arcaded pavilions, decorated with pilasters. Original building was built in 1917 by the City of Hamilton (Aldershot area was within Hamilton limits). It was built as an entertainment destination & included a beach area & a bathhouse on the shoreline & a dock. The building was destroyed by fire. In 1998 a comprehensive reconstruction was done to match the original design & the second floor was rebuilt as a multi-use hall/banquet facility.

1931, the family gave 122 acres to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Hendrie's family commissioned Frederick John Flatman to design & build a magnificent set of wrought iron gates, to be used in entrance marker to Hendrie.

Crossroads is a 100,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art, multi-purpose Christian faith centre, with broadcast and administrative spaces, resource and training facilities, as well as amenities such as the Towne Square Café and beautifully landscaped Walk of Faith. 11,000 square foot, 3-storey limestone structure. Classical influence is seen in the Tuscan columns on the east and south elevations and the scroll pediment above the west entrance. Classical features combine with aspects of avant-garde 1930s design in the asymmetry of four elevations, each with a distinct character. Although some maintenance has been deferred, the wood trim is all original. This cottage has narrow horizontal siding. A rusticated concrete block foundation supports the frame structure. The character of the c.1910 home is enhanced by the cobblestone wall surrounding the porch and the octagonal column which supports the overhanging roof. The home is L-shaped resulting from the porch area, enhanced by the gable end roof which is broken centrally on both the front and rear facades with dormers.
