Bushfire BunkersAs bushfire bunkers are only required as the fire passes overhead, confined spaces such as these will suffice for the short term duration of their use.

The Aussie IglooThis prefabricated, reinforced concrete bushfire bunker has been especially designed for family use in bushfire emergency situations. Compact in size, the bunker can be delivered and installed easily, with only minor excavation required. Extracted earth could be mounded onto the bunker, further insulating the structure. Dual entrance ports with fire retardant portal doors allow safe exit incase one of the entrances becomes blocked. The interior is lined with fire retardant felt, with segments hanging over both entrance ports, giving occupants maximum radiant heat protection.

Drop Down BunkerThis prefabricated bushfire bunker is subterranean in nature and is made of a combination of galvanized steel for the body of the bunker and reinforced concrete for the entry shafts. The shafts are capped by fire retardant circular hatch doors. To protect the hatch doors from becoming blocked, a set of galvanized steel semi-circular frames are located on either side of both entry shafts. The compact interior is easily accessed with the aid of ladders, with both ceiling and floor being lined with fire retardant felt, which further insulates the bunker and allows for improved comfort in this confined space.
