Why should I recruit a placement student? Low cost solution – reduce yourrecruitment costs by advertising yourvacancies to our students free ofcharge, whilst also accessing a lowcost staff solution.

Fill a skills gap or vacancy – solveyour short term staff shortages andcomplete specific one-off specialistprojects without long termcommitments.

High quality students – add value to your organisation, by accessinghigh quality, reflective and analyticalthinkers, who are motivated andwilling to get involved.

Inject fresh ideas – complement yourexisting organisational skills with newideas, knowledge and up to datetheoretical concepts.

What do I needto know? What courses are being studied?Students in the Business School study a wide range of courses, including,economics, finance, accounting, tourism,leadership, business, management andmarketing, and they have skills andinterests in a variety of sectors.

How long does the placement need to be? Placements usually last for 12 months,although this can be flexible, subject to minimum placement lengthguidelines (36 weeks). It may bepossible to extend the placementperiod, depending on the final yearstart dates.

How much will it cost? On average, placement students arepaid between £12,000 and £14,000per annum. However, a number ofcompanies pay more than this.

How do I advertise to yourstudents?We can advertise your placement toour students free of charge on ourinternal Job-surfing database.

Although we are unable to carry outshort listing for companies, we canoffer you facilities to hold yourinterviews on campus if you do notwant to use your own premises.
