This has led to the development of fully integrated products and systems for use within theconstruction industry that provide innovative and cost effective solutions for the supportof mechanical and electrical services in an increasingly demanding market.

Metstrut Cable Tray has been developed after significant consultation with major installersto ensure the systems meet and surpass key requirements. The unique perforation patternallows ease of attachment for cables with more than adequate ventilation and the returnflanges of the medium and heavy duty systems are cable friendly.

There are three ranges to choose from, each a total system with a wide selection of supportaccessories to provide comprehensive site installation solutions:

Return flange - medium duty 25mm high overall

Return flange - heavy duty 50mm high overall

None return flange -light duty 12mm & 18mm high overall

Materials and Finishes

Metstrut Cable Trays are available in Mild Steel Pre Galvanised and also Hot Dip Galvanisedafter manufacture as standard, with Stainless Steel Grade 316 made to order.

Mild Steel Pre Galvanised: Manufactured from steel complying withBS EN 10142:2000.

Mild Steel Hot Dip Galvanised: Manufactured from steel complying with BS EN 10111:1999and hot dip galvanised after manufacture to BS EN ISO 1461:1999.

Stainless Steel: Manufactured from stainless steel grade 316 complying withBS EN 10088-2:2001.

Metstrut Cable Trays and accessories are manufactured to comply withstringent quality procedures which are approved by the British StandardsInstitute Quality Assurance Division to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.

Deflectionhas been limited to SPAN/200 generally, basedon the end span condition as the worst case.Deflection will be less than this on internal spans.However, on wider trays, additional deflectionwill be induced locally across the base of thetray, depending on the width of the tray and theload distribution across the width. This will notbe detrimental to the structural performance ofthe tray but may need consideration if appearanceis of prime importance.

Metstrut cable tray covers come complete with fixing brackets and fasteners. Both closed and ventilated coverdesigns are available.
