CAD Drafter / Production Assistant – Climbing Walls

Vertical Solutions, the nation’s leading climbing wall design and manufacturing company, is looking for enthusiastic and skilled draftsperson to work on large-scale indoor rock climbing gym projects. We are interested in people that have an architectural background/education and we strongly prefer applicants to be existing climbers. This a great job for recent architect graduates or individuals who have architectural experience that are interested in using those skills to do something unique in a space they are already passionate about.

Quick overview:

Responsibilities: • Create, edit, analyze and translate curves, surfaces and solids into functional, artistic climbing structures. • Prepare complex schematic drawing from rough sketches or oral instruction

Qualifications: • Must be proficient in Rhino 3D, Sketchup, Adobe Suite, and Revit, with solid 3D modeling capabilities • ~2 years climbing experience • Some knowledge of the principles and methods of surveying and inspecting sites and buildings preferred • High level of accountability and ability to effectively prioritize tasks • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently or with a team

What we are looking for from you: Ideal candidates should have most if not all of the qualifications listed above, as well as being confident problem solvers and critical thinkers. This is a job where your focus will be on individual projects that last from a couple weeks to multiple months and you will coordinate with management stakeholders, team members manufacturing and/or installing your designs, and occasionally clients. If you have structural engineering or construction experience, we would weigh that favorably as well.
