~ Children are a beloved part of our gatherings ~ Wiggles and Giggles Included!

We start Sunday morning worship together with our families and after the Children’s Blessing, we go to our age-appropriate classes. Parents are

welcome to come with their children at any time... siblings are welcome to stay together. We want your

children to be comfortable and happy while they’re here learning about the steadfast love of God through Jesus.

We have so many ways you and your children can connect. See Jodie Regan, Minister to Children and Families for all the details.

Final Results for 2015

If you couldn’t tell, I was overwhelmed and quite humbled by your response to my message at the congregational meeting this month. Please remember that I am only the messenger and there were more than a few people that volunteered their time to make this transition happen. I would like to add a special acknowledgement to Priscilla Dixon for volunteering to take on the bookkeeping responsibilities for our Church. The outsourcing of that function was quite challenging because they didn’t always understand all of our Church functions. Priscilla’s understanding of our Church functions coupled with her knowledge of Quickbooks provided just the help that I needed to close out the year in fine fashion.

At the meeting, I announced preliminary results for the year showed a surplus of $15,000 – $16,000. I intended that to be a bit conservative just to be safe, but it turned out it was more than a bit conservative. Our year-end reconciliations and review resulted in several sizeable adjustments both ways. We were able to reconcile down to the penny with our bank accounts and the final result was an actual surplus of $20,925! You can see the further detail by program in a comparative format in this year’s annual report which will be out at the end of this month. The big difference over the past two years was due to the staff reductions called for in the revised budget. Prior to the revised budget, staffing represented around 94% of the Church expenses. Afterward, it was more in the range of 65-70%.

This has been a much needed change for the Church and provided a sound foundation for the future. I look forward to helping build on that base and continuing the momentum that we started this past year. Thank you all for your support!!

As always, if you have any questions you can reach me at [email protected].

The New Year

For those of you who use Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) for your pledges, we have made the requested changes and additions with the company that provides this service for us. Those changes were effective January 1st. Normally the transfer is made from your account the first week of the month. Please pay particular attention this month to your bank accounts to make sure that the amount transferred was correct. If there are any problems please contact Priscilla or myself at your earliest convenience and we will get any problems corrected.

Your year-end giving statements are available now. For privacy and cost concerns we are going to change the process a bit this year. If you will give us a stamped, self addressed envelope, we will print out your statement and drop it in the mail to you. You can simply put the envelope in the collection plate on Sunday, give it to Kate in the office or just drop it in our Finance basket in the office. Or, if you let us know in advance we can print out the statement and have it available for you in the office.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all of you from Priscilla and I!
