Dear Parents Those of you who have already attended Parent Information Talks will be aware the Australian Government has mandated that all schools have a Code of Conduct in place by the 1 st of January this year. We were informed of this requirement in October last year and the Catholic Education Office of WA (CEWA) created a Code of Conduct consisting of 12 essential components that must be adhered to by the staff and broader community. Staff were very involved in examining the 12 components, the School Board and some P&F members, as well as student representatives from Years 4-6, were invited to make comment on the Code of Conduct. The document is available for your perusal on the school website and is to be found under Policies. This year we have also created a Student Council to allow the classes to have a stronger voice in discussions related to changes within the school, where possible. There will be representatives from Years 1-6 participating in the meetings. The Term 1 Student Councillors are listed overleaf in the School News section. Just a reminder that the Picnic on The Green is now being held on the 24 th of February so come along and enjoy what we hope will be a lovely, balmy summer evening. Parents, may I ask you to take care not to park in the driveway closest to the church in Deanmore Street. That driveway belongs to the priest who resides in the house on the corner of Lalor and Deanmore. He tells me he frequently cant get out of his garage in the mornings, which has caused him to be held up for meetings and call outsto hospitals and to a range of people requesting his support.
