ANTHONY CROSSFIELDFor over 20 years, Anthony has been ahighly admired and sought after stylistin Vancouver, BC. Since graduatingfrom Hair School in 1985, he has beengoing 100 miles an hour, cutting, competing, teaching and running hisown successful salon, Mine. Anthony maintains activeinvolvement with the salon consumer as well as continually competing and updating his skills for the

technical mastery. His fierce competitive side has allowed Anthony to compete in the Hair World Olympics as a member of Team Canada, 1986 inItaly and again in Holland1994. His cutting style is intense; free form andsculptural, based in part on traditional techniques learned, creating a stylethat is uniquely his. Although he stresses that the consultation is the keyfor a great haircut, Anthony is a finishing fanatic and believes the finaldetails are what make the difference between the average and the spectacu-lar. This philosophy along with his consumer experience helped Anthonywin Canada’s Superstar Hair Challenge on Slice TV. The Challenge aired for8 weeks where Anthony battled against other competitors, stress, no contactwith the outside world and then finally the added responsibility to not sharethe news of his win until the series aired was the most stressful and rewarding time in his professional career.

up in Montreal, Quebec,Canada, and is fluent in

THOMAS COUSINSSince entering the

beauty business, Thomashas realized that education is the driving force

behind any stylist’s or salon’s success. Before joining Paul Mitchell he was convinced that he

could build his business on technical skills alone.By expanding his education beyond the chair,

She has graced the show stage in many different citiesincluding New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. According to Gillian, staying on the cutting edge of hairstyling and

fashion, as well as keeping up with education are the key elements to success in the beauty industry.

MANUEL ALFARELAA stylist for over twenty years and a successful salon and spa owner for twelve, Manuel Alfarela has seen his success documented in Canadian trade and consumer magazines. He regularly participates in photo shoots as anoutlet to produce looks that are cutting edge and avant-garde. Manuel is driven to always be current in the workthat he produces and finds dresswork to be one of the most creative outlets for stylists.

Manuel believes that the ever-changing industry is what makes it one of the greatest careers to behold. The desireto work “smarter and not harder” and clients’ demand for “more results in less time” are what inspire Manuel toshare techniques that are quick, easy and produce results that everyone wants.

TRACY CATTHer nickname is “the Machine”, and it’s the first thingpeople associate with Tracy Catt. Dedication, motiva-tion, and a true commitment to education are a fewfeatures that set Tracy Catt apart from others in herfield. Tracy has achieved much success in the twelveyears she has been in the hair industry, working inRed Deer, Alberta. Tracy is on the Redken CanadianNational Artistic Team as well as facilitates nationalcolour programs. Tracy’s eye for detail and desire to

support others to understand the advanced colour techniques show hertrue passion for the hair industry. Tracy’s main objective is to inspirestylists and colourists and to keep raising the bar in the hair world.

Steeped in Barbering tradition, Jamie has never forgot the grass roots ofBarbering but today, Jamie offers a new “urban” edge in his work. Specializing in hair tattooing and designs,Jamie has been inspiring hairdressers for the past two years with Oster Professional. Competitors from outside ofProvince may enter all competitions exceptthe New Talent Fashion Cut & Style andProvincial Championship. The sponsors,Allied Beauty Association, are not responsiblefor personal losses or injury to either contes-tants or models. Any latecomer, up to 5 min-utes, may compete but will forfeit the compe-tition time and will be demeritted 5 points.
