The Reflection's theme this year was "Within Reach" and Nadirah's entry "Reaching with Time" was entered in the Visual Arts category. Winter Solstice Tree was another success! I want to thank everyone from our wonderful staff to our outstanding students and parents who contributed this year to Cambridge’s Winter Solstice Tree campaign. The campaign raises gift cards for teenagers in state care so that they are not given leftover gifts and they can go purchase what they actually want. Last year Cambridge raised $1500 in gift cards and was the leading giver among the schools that participated. We set our aim to do better this year and boy did we!!! Cambridge donated $2600 in gift cards that will now make the holiday season a little more special for teenagers in state care. Once again, Cambridge was the leading giving and in fact we outperformed the next two schools combined! I won’t mention those schools by name but you’ve heard of them :) It was amazing to watch the number of teachers and students stop by my room to ask for a “tree thing”. As the week went on, there was a constant stream of people stopping by. This speaks to the caring and generous nature of our community and that in spite of what we so often see in the news, that people still do care about one another and are willing to give to those they don’t even know. I am overwhelmed and I know the teens will be too. Mr. Schuler and the National Social Studies Honor Society Congratulations Ms. Mann Congratulations to our own Patty Mann who was recognized as the STAR teacher from her previous school, Union Grove.
