OUR SIMPLE 3-STEP PROCESS

1. INITIAL ENGAGEMENTA client contacts CamIn with a question to answer or a problem to solve (e.g. a prior art search has to be conducted

for litigation or a consulting client requires additional expertise in a technology field). CamIn’s Client Engagement

Managers and Associates determine: what expertise is needed; project scope; and the time that will be required to

address the challenge. They then design a service plan for the client accordingly.

2. FINDING THE RIGHT EXPERTSCamIn identifies experts from top universities that are best suited to address the client’s needs. CamIn does not

hold a database of experts, as academia is a very dynamic field. Instead, CamIn uses carefully developed internal

procedures to hand-pick individuals for a particular project. Academia is a complex environment, and recruiting the

correct team of experts requires strict adherence to both institutional and legal requirements. Each contracted

researcher undergoes a thorough internal quality assessment before being presented to the client.

Page 8: Cambridge Innovation Consulting - Brochure

3. PROVIDING THE SOLUTION

EXPERT NETWORK SOLUTION (DIRECT CLIENT-EXPERT

ENGAGEMENT)Ideal for when the client only requires brief advice on one or more

short/specific questions

CamIn experts are briefed on the client’s question and then prepare a

comprehensive answer. The client can receive the answer directly from the

expert via phone, in a one-on-one meeting, or in a workshop. During the client-

to-expert interaction, the client is welcome to ask any questions related to

those submitted in advance to the expert. Post-consultation research can be

conducted if additional questions arise during the consultation.

CONSULTANCY SOLUTION (INDIRECT CLIENT-EXPERT

ENGAGEMENT)Ideal for when the client requires a written assessment regarding a given

inquiry

CamIn assembles a team of experts who assess the client’s case and

requirements. Depending on the client’s needs, CamIn can answer a set of

questions in a concise CamIn Insight Report, or provide a highly detailed,

comprehensive Consultancy Report. The teams are selected based on their

complementary skill sets, so the experts can assess a complex problem from

different perspectives. In both instances, the report is reviewed by an

additional field expert to ensure the highest quality for our clients.

TECH INCUBATION SOLUTION (LONG-TERM CLIENT-EXPERT

ENGAGEMENT)Ideal for when the client requires ongoing advice

Throughout the technology incubation process, CamIn is able to provide a team

of experts to overcome the particular challenges that arise during

commercialisation. CamIn’s involvement can vary from provision of reports to

hands-on involvement in the process.
