Want to be a counselor?

Auburn University“I was a camper at Ozark for seven years, and I made some life-long friends and invaluable memories. When I went to Auburn, I met a few people who were counselors and realized how much I missed having camp in my life. I have been a counselor for 2 sum-mers. I don’t ever want to leave!”

-Charlie Johnson

Camp Ozark has been blessed to have such compassionate counselorsthroughout the years, and we are always looking for more to join the team. Here are some personal testimonials from Auburn University and Samford.

Samford“Camp has prepared me for so many things in life, and being a counselor has probably taught me the most. It is a great growing and learning experience, and I would suggest it to anyone who has the opportunity. I have recruited a few friends from college and they all love it.”

-Sara Williams

come ride With meOzark is pleased to announce that we have added a few four legged friends to our camp family.

Jazz and Moonlight are joining the Ozark stables. Both horses were do-nated from a farm down the road in Arkansas. The two females have been trail horses for years and are excellent for first-time riders. If you have ever wanted to learn to ride, there has never been a better time!

The stables have also undergone a full renovation and are in pristine shape. We have added two arenas, a new grooming area, and a new riding trail through the foothills of the Ozark Mountains.

Because we believe that the Camp Ozark experience should be available to any child, The Camp Ozark Foundation spon-sors “Ozark For All.” This campaign exists to send under-served children to camp and provide them with a year-long personal mentor outside of camp.

In 2008, The Camp Ozark Foundation was able to host several children from an inner-city school in Houston. These children not only had a great camp experience, but are also actively par-ticipating in the mentorship program. The program provides spiritual development and school tutoring.

All mentors are Ozark alumni or volunteers from church partners. If you or anyone you know is interesting in mentoring a child, please visit campozark.com/foundation for information about locations and participating churches. If you are unable to mentor, but would like to help, you have the option to donate on the Web site. We are excited about the future of the foundation, and with your help there are no limits.

so much to do, so little timeThere are so many different activities to try at camp. Unfortunately you can’t stay forever, so put careful thought into your schedule to maximize your experience. We always recom-mend trying new things too! The Arkansas heat can be harsh, so here are both hot and cool choices:
