    Camp Wool Sept 24th

    1862

    Dear Father,

    I have just read yours and Waltons of the 18th

    and was very glad to hear from you.

    Henry and myself are well and send our love to all. I take time to write while the men are at

    dinner so my letter must be a short one. You wrote in your letter inquiring about the size of pistol

    & boots we wanted we want allens cartridge six shooter length from hammer to muzzle.6. inch.

    Henry wants his boots to be fives. Legs 18 inches long from the heal up. my own a trifle larger

    heal legs the same. we want 100 cartridges each

    An express runs direct to the relay house Tell Jenny I shall not write any more letters to

    her until she answers mine.
