SkyComms Aus is a leading provider of telecommunications services across Australia. With extensive experience in telecommunications infrastructure and equipment deployment.

SkyComms Aus provides installation and maintenance services for all major wireless carriers and mobile tower owners Australia wide.

We also deliver turnkey services to assist businesses in making their facilities future-ready with in-building wireless solutions. Helping businesses improve their coverage performance and connectivity with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). The SkyComms team are highly skilled in managing complex DAS solutions from initial assessments through to project completion on notable facilities in Australia.

Network Upgrades

As base station technologies shift and improve, carriers need to upgrade their equipment. Our team is not only familiar with all base station technologies but also experienced in microwave deployment. We strive to make any equipment upgrade as streamlined as possible, not exceeding the approved outage window.

SkyComms teams work on the major telecommunication carriers infrastructure in Australia to deliver the timely and ongoing upgrading of base station technologies in metropolitan, rural and remote areas. Our teams are equipped to work on towers, masts or monopoles and building rooftops in high-density areas, to ensure the best possible coverage. With experience working on both greenfield and brownfield sites, the SkyComms team has worked across some of the most complex DAS projects within Australia. Due to the unique nature of each venue, no single, cookie cutter system can be constructed, making DAS a complex system to implement. Administered by a dedicated Quality Management team, frequent internal quality audits are conducted across all projects and sites. Kim Chea Managing Director

Kim is a Director of Sky Communications Aus and owner since March 2018. Kim overseas the accounting, business support, financial and analysis, internal audit and tax functions at SkyComms. With experience working in SME and enterprise companies, Kim brings to the company extensive knowledge of financial reporting and systems implementation.

Kim has over 15 years’ experience building and leading finance teams within the engineering, warehouse distribution and telecommunications industries. In addition to this her experience with report implementation and automisation, she is a valuable asset to the business. She is focused on developing SkyComms into an agile business providing SkyComms customers with leading edge processes to support the growth of the customers business. Kim holds a Bachelor of Business and specialises in Management Accounts and Financial Reporting.

Ben Lek General Manager

A highly successful senior executive and founder of General Purpose Communications which was acquired by a public listed company, Ben brings over 29 years of telecommunications experience to the company. Ben’s vast experience, relationships and intimate understanding of tier 1 Network carriers both in Australia and overseas has influenced the vision and strategic direction of Sky Communications Aus. The company has evolved into a service driven organisation supported by a leadership team with broad Telco and non-Telco expertise to drive Ben’s vision and strategy to support the future of the Telecommunications network within Australia.

With experience leading numerous successful high-profile network projects across Australia and being recognised as a network expert in upgrades, installation, DAS and Small Cell application of emerging and future technologies, Ben has established a highly experienced team of successful professionals at SkyComms. A focused leader, Ben is committed to remaining at the forefront of industry advancements and continuing to set service standards in Australia.

A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Ben has completed his Company Directors course. With this and his solid foundation of governance and directorship knowledge Ben is leading the business through a solid transformation ensuring SkyComms is Future Ready.

Stephen Ellich Business Advisor

Stephen is a Senior Executive/Director with over 25years of success governing and leading large, complex, national organisations through establishment, development and transformational change to deliver sustainable growth, profitability and strong operating cash flow. Stephen provides, business expertise combined with astute financial acumen, international experience and the maturity of a senior executive in the capacity of executive support and mentor to Sky Communications Aus.

Stephen focuses on values, strategy, technology, process and people to drive sustainable performance. His breath of experience provides Sky Communications Aus with a unique skill base in finance, safety, cost management and process mapping to support the business and leadership team through their growth and expansion within Australia.

Stephen is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, has held the position of Non-Executive Director of YMCA Australia and is currently a Board Member of St Kevin’s College Toorak.

Daniel Veldhoven National Operations Manager

Daniel’s experience within the telecommunications industry brings to SkyComms Aus a unique level of expertise to drive the SkyComms strategy. With his solid experience working on and managing key projects across all major Australian Telecommunication carriers, Daniel is responsible for building and aligning the organisations skill base and level of service to support and meet business objectives and customer goals.

With strong relationship management capabilities combined with a deep understanding of end to end business functions and the inter-relationships between core business activities, Daniel is experienced in developing productive and dedicated teams, processes and operations management core business policies.

Specifically, Daniels Telecommunication experience lies with technical expertise in microwave and radio, civil construction, budget planning and management, mitigation planning, MOPS, DAS and small cell. Qualified in Engineering and Computing Systems, Daniel is currently completing his Law Degree. This combination with his experience delivers a highly effective strategic manager with leadership capabilities to head SkyComms Aus operations in Australia.
