  • Although ALL schools receive an AYP status only Title I schools may be identified as School in Need of Improvement (SINI) schools.

After 2 consecutive years of not meeting AYP, the school is identified as a SINI

The school must make AYP for 2 consecutive years to be removed from the SINI school list.

Writing is the other indicator for elementary school.Graduation Rate and writing are the other indicators for high school.

AYP Know the Rules*Performance Accountability*AYP Know the Rules*Performance Accountability*Since Title I Schools receive federal money, they will receive consequences.District consequences similar to school consequences.Make a planReceive technical assistance from the stateConsequences get more stringent as years pass-can include replacement of principal and/or staff and take over by the state.

Due to the fact that NA cells count in the schools favor, schools with less subgroups have an advantage.***
