    Heres What Most Dealers Are Trying To Do Today

    Yet, most owners are trying to their businesses this way, with the same old marketingand promotional tactics and strategies that were being used years ago when it was acompletely and utterly different business-building environment.

    Theres no denying it its more expensive, more expensive, and more expensive!

    So, again, today people are much more resistant (and oblivious) to the

    advertisements in the typical media (i.e. local newspapers and di rectmail)AND, yet, its costing business owners even more money just to try and gettheir attention.

    In fact, U.S. Postage proposes postage rate increases for 2011. And, my guess is,were going to see even more of these increases in the near future.

    Not a very good combination for the businesses continuing to do things according tothe old business marketing method. (Ill explain the new method in just aminute.)

    And, I predict, for those dealerships still us ing the old expensive methods,things will continue to get worse for them.

    Let me explain why I believe this wholeheartedly.

    The dealerships using the old marketing and promotional methods are puttingthemselves and their businesses at a grave competitive disadvantage with othercompeting dealers in their area..

    To understand why, we need to touch on the subject of your business metrics, for asecond.

    For the purpose of this Report, when I use the word metric or metrics, Imreferring to the performance and financial numbers within your business.

    Some examples of metrics within your business niche are: number ofcustomer leads generated per month, percentage of leads converted intocustomers, referral rate per customer, cash flow, operating profit margin, etc.

    However, in terms of importance to your business and predictive value, none ofyour business metrics hold a candle to the two Im about to talk about.

    When viewed and used in combination, these two metrics predict how competitive

    you can be in your marketplace, whether youre at a competitive advantage ordisadvantage with your competitors, and the likelihood of you dominating your

    about your business. Before I explain exactly how these metrics give us this criticalinformation, lets lay out some simple definitions of these two key business indicators.

    The cost to acquire a new customer is the average dollar amount you invest to getone new customer. For instance, if you invest $2,000 on marketing in a single

    month and end the month with 10 new customers, your cost of acquisition is $200per new customer.

    Your lifetime customer value, arguably the most important number in type ofbusiness, is the average dollar value of an average customer over the lifeof their patronage with your company. To calculate this metric for a given periodof time, simply take the total amount of revenue your business generated duringthe specified time period and divide it by the total number of customers youserviced from the beginning of the time period. The number you end up with iswhats known as the lifetime value of a customer.

    So, what does all of this talk of math and metrics have to do with whether or notyour business will kick butt and dominate your marketplace or not?

    EVERYTHING!First, the difference betweenthese two metrics tells us howmuch your profit is percustomer.

    The more an average customeris worth to your business andthe less it costs you to acquirea single new customer themore profit there is per customer. Themore profit per customer, and themore customers, the more money youmake.

    Hopefully, no new revelations there for you.

    But, its what lies beneath the basics of those two metrics where the real gold ishiding in your business.

    You see, once you understand how these two metrics interact and how theydirectly affect your bottom line cash, you should quickly realize that in order togrow a lucrative business operation you need to positively impact bothof those numbers so you can positively impact your cash.
