Welcome Autumn We are delighted to share with you our Autumn newsletter and are delighted to welcome back our existing families, and also the 27 new families that have registered with the Children’s Centre since 30/06/14. Within our newsletter you can find lots of information about great sessions and activities available in your local community.

Is a fun 5 week course where parents/carers can have a go at preparing healthy family

meals from scratch and on a budget, as well as gaining some knowledge on what contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Starting Monday 15th September – 6th October (4 weeks) 1:00pm – 3:00pm Limited crèche places are available to book a place please contact the Children’s Centre.

Register and WIN We will be running a monthly prize draw for a food and meat hamper for all new registrations to the Children’s Centre we receive. Already registered? Family Activities Please refer to diary sheets for dates, times and venues.

Time to Play Bring your child (ren) to explore a new and stimulating environment, having a go with

construction, role play, arts and craft and much more. Age: 0 - 4yrs.

Baby Play Come along and spend some quality time with your baby, exploring sensory, messy or movement. The sessions aim to

give you ideas for making the most of playtime in ways that encourage your baby’s growth and development. Age 0 – walking. Let’s Get Moving Run, hop, skip or jump along to our movement session and get active with friends. Age: 0 - 4 yrs. Let’s get Storytelling Come and join the play team and, make your favourite stories come to life through a range of activities including crafts, role play and movement. Winter Wonderland It’s a time of year full of excitement, sparkle and magic! Join the play team for arts, crafts, and much more on the run up to Christmas! Parents Active with Sure Start Become active and have your say on how &

when we run our sessions and activities in your local community. We

October Half Term Spooky Surprises Halloween is coming soon, so grab your mask or your broom; the play team will be your host, come dressed as yourself, a witch or a ghost. So fly down and there will be ‘gooey’ surprises galore. Sessions are accessible for those aged 0-8 years. Under 8’s must be supervised by an adult at all times. Carlisle North Children’s Centre (Belah) 30th October 2pm – 3.30pm Toy Stop and Swap Borrow toys and resources to help you keep up with your child’s ever changing interests. Call in to the Centre to look at the toy selection This service and catalogues are available to schools, nurseries and childminders from Carlisle Rural Sure Start Children’s Centre. Ring and reserve for you to collect.

All of our activities are MATCH Family sessions and are open to the whole

family. Enjoy socialising in our free and relaxed sessions, whilst taking part in a range of fun and varied family activities. Arts and Crafts Is a fun 5 week course that allows you to have fun, be creative and make something from different materials that you can keep! The course will help improve your confidence and there will be an opportunity to find out about other free learning opportunities. Limited crèche places are available. Family Health Healthy Child Clinics
