My Client’s brief is to create an oasis of peace and calm maximising ocean views with minimalist architectural aesthetic both externally and internally. Other key criteria include materials that can survive the harsh marine environment with low maintenance materials being essential. Preparation of 5 Concept Design Options including 2 separate or one combined but compartmentalized bathroom option for the 2 bedroom apartment. Concept was based on extra large and double showers, long vanities, natural and neutral materials and colours and all fixtures off the floor for ease of cleaning. 2014 –2015 - New Residence, Fig Tree Pocket New 2-3 storey house to take advantage of the lush landscaping to the east of the site and Brisbane river glimpses. The client brief is to provide an affordable, functional family home for them and their children with natural light, opportunities for breezes and easy flow between rooms whilst still maintaining security. The site with established trees lends the design to creating ‘pods’ with decks and green roofs joining the areas. The integration of a small swimming pool and north facing BBQ/outdoor living is also paramount.
